Huge selection of roses. Most are identified. In addition to roses there are a variety of other plants, so it is worth visiting in any season. Plant care does not seem to be as good as it used to be, but we see staff and volunteers working every time we visit. During the summer, there is a food cart with a limited menu. It was open 5/6/25. Photo posted. Restrooms are available. They are reasonably clean and well maintained but no paper towels. The gift shop with related items is open Thurs-Monday in season. There are picnic tables available as well as benches. The parking fee can be paid through an app or at a machine. If you move your car from one zone to another you have to pay again. Parking can fill up, but you can park elsewhere in the park and take the free park bus. You can also take bus 63 to the park or the MAX to the Washington Park stop then the free park bus. Some covered tables are available between the restrooms and store. Picnic tables are available at the other end of the parking lot. There are benches in and around the garden. Leashed dogs are allowed. There is a very nice playground nearby if...

The International Rose Test Garden in Portland is an absolute must see, especially during the bloom season from May to October. Unfortunately it was raining and there were few roses. Nestled in Washington Park, the garden boasts over 10,000 rose bushes and 600 varieties, offering a stunning array of colors, shapes and fragrances that captivate all who visit. The layout is easy to navigate and beautiful, with sweeping views of the city. Each section highlights different rose varieties, including award winning hybrids and unique species. The atmosphere is peaceful, making it a perfect place to stroll, take pictures, or relax among the blooms. The garden is well maintained, with benches, shaded areas, and informational plaques that make it both educational and scenic. Entry is free, and there are access to nearby trails in Washington Park. There is also a store where you can find nice souvenirs gifts. Whether you are a rose enthusiast or just looking for a scenic retreat, Portland’s Rose Garden is a breathtaking gem that everyone can enjoy. Please be careful with the stairs, especially when...
