I know that all businesses have been hit hard during COVID and well, businesses in DT Portland even harder due to the rioting/violence. SO appreciate Bike Gallery being open, available, and having bikes etc in stock! Even more, EXCEPTIONAL employees! We encountered Russell when we walked in to buy me a bike and DANG, what a super star. SO knowledgeable, so helpful, easy to talk to and not there to try to sell me something I didn't want. (Can we adopt him???) While we were working with Russell, we met Dan. So much fun! We talked hockey till we were blue in the face! He didn't have to spend time with us - but he did! Then came Alex - he found me my awesome pink WaveCel helmet (that he wanted to buy - sorry, Alex! You get the next one! ;) and helped us finish up our transaction (and got us some cool Bike Gallery pint glasses =) The 3 Amigos were THE BEST! What a fantastic experience. I bought a Trek FX3 and every single Amigo shared something valuable about the equipment, riding, etc. I can't say enough about how well they all worked together to represent Bike Gallery in such a genuine and professional way. Oh yah, "Nathan The Service Guy" (and the other brilliant bike surgeons in the back) helped make adjustments to my bike to insure it fit me to a T! To Justin the Manager: Raises for all!!! Great job running your store. We will recommend you to everyone! Keep up the great work. =)PS: Rode the bike yesterday and I LOVE IT!Megan and Chris S.

Amazing! I’m so stoked these guys set up shop in the heart of Slabtown. Super cool space and full lineup of every genre bike aside, the team and service at this location are GEMS. They don’t discriminate in terms of make and model bike or did they flinch when I brought in my odd ride for service I couldn’t articulate. Every other bike shop in Portland is either intimidating, makes me feel dumb, lectures me about long wait times, or bristles at my make and model ride. I just might be found simply hanging out at their cool space, which is liable to spill out into a block party when the summer months hit. Nuff said: the advent of this location opening is a game changer.

Proud owner of a new Project One Emonda, SLR 7! The folks at Trek Portland Downtown were super helpful and patient with all my questions. When the bike finally arrived, Nora spent a lot of time with me to make sure things were dialed in. Others also were there to help or answer my questions. They made sure I had everything I needed, without trying to push me to buy extras that didn't fit my riding goals. Justin was also extremely helpful in responding to my questions in the days after I picked up the bike and I am confident his shop will continue to support me in the years to come. I highly recommend Trek Portland Downtown for your next bike!

Editing this on 3/14/2023 - It took me forever to finally call, but the shop did indeed make this right. It is very much appreciated and I'll most certainly be back; I just put in an order for another fix. Thanks y'all!

In a world where my typical work week is 50 or so hours and my main hobby is riding uphill with cars passing far too close, it's difficult to find time to maintain my bikes myself. As a result, I am constantly on the hunt for a shop that is both friendly and trustworthy. After trying a few different Trek shops, I thought I had finally found a spot that I could trust with my Emonda. Apparently not. I brought my bike in last week to take advantage of the Level 2 tune up where it was also recommended that I replace my chain, rear cassette, and rear pads. I found this somewhat suspicious since I had a Level 2 done (with a new chain and rear cassette added) at the shop on Sandy not 6 months ago; I certainly hadn't been out for 2,000-3,000 miles in that time frame (thanks, weather), but maybe I was just unlucky. After getting the bike and used parts back (ahead of schedule), I decided to pick up a chain stretch tool to verify that a new chain was needed. No, it was not needed. The .5 indicator wasn't even close to fitting in between the links. I haven't had the time to check the cassette yet, but I suspect that is fine also. The mechanic alerted me to a cracked headset cable routing spacer which will cost an additional $160 to fix. After the latest round of unnecessary repairs, I am highly suspicious of this. I don't have a lot of time or money, it's a shame to be taken advantage...

I was in town for two weeks with just my bike to get around and it was due for a tune up. I was referred here by a passerby and had a poor experience. Not only did they say it would take a week to get me in, but it would take a week to get my bike back. I told them I was only in town for a couple weeks and asked for the minimum maintenance, but they barely looked up from the computer. The guy told me a bunch of stuff needed to get fixed or replaced and gave me a quote over $120 + parts.

I made a few calls and found two places I could get in within a couple days with fair rates so I went back to get my bike. When I told them why I was picking my bike up, the person helping me apologized for the misquote and said they could get me in today. The guy who originally helped me didn't even have the decency to greet me or take part in the conversation. He saw me come in and hid behind a bike in the back.

I'm glad I decided to go for a second opinion elsewhere. I hopped over to North Portland Bike Works. They were so friendly and helpful here. They gave my bike a tune-up right then and there and found it to be in perfect condition, questioning what the guys quoted me on here and saying nothing needs to be replaced. In my experience, this place will take advantage of your situation and your lack of knowledge if you aren't an avid cyclist. I recommend shopping around elsewhere...
