If you're here for the park, you can play basketball at the covered courts at the far end of the parking, enjoy the new skate park, work out with some covered equipment, or bring the kids to the playground. Afterward, you can enjoy a light meal or treat from the snack bar (open seasonally). There's lots of parking and restrooms. If you're here for the trail, it's a great spot to get on. Go straight across at the trailhead for one of the many access points to downtown Powder Springs - this one takes you out to the KFC & McDonald's. Turn left to go towards Austell, and if you want to pick up the Wild Horse Creek Trail and the Carter Rd. parking lot. It's also a short walk to the covered outdoor gym and skate park. Turn right to head towards access points to downtown Powder Springs proper and Hiram, and if you want to pick up Lucile Trail. It's also a short walk to clearings with more picnic tables and the climbing gym for kids. Because of the park amenities, this park is a great spot for families to frequent. Depending on the time of day, you're going to have lots of foot traffic for kids, dogs, strollers, etc. Most of the trail is residential on one side for about half a mile in either direction. You are guaranteed to see lots of squirrels and maybe a cat, deer,...
Read moreI absolutely love this park for my (almost) 2 year old daughter! I love that there's a big kids side and a littler kids side! When we go and there's too many older kids chasing each other, we can just grab her and move over a few feet to the smaller area and she loves them both equally! And since it is at the Silver Comet Trail, if we want to, we can go for an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL stroll down the trail! This park is so easy to get to and, very obviously, adored by so many parents. I highly recommend taking your little, and big, ones here. OH!!! they also have this really neat little book spot. It looks like a little bird house almost? It's a "take a book, leave a book" concept and, being from Vegas, I have never seen one of these before! I've seen kids AND parents find books in it. The only thing I wish it also had, was a...
Read moreSilver Comet Linear Park I passed this park after a showing and had to turn around. I'm so happy that I did. It has a trail for bike riding, walking your dog, with the kids, family or taking pictures of nature and it was clean. A nice playground for the children. Public restrooms that were also clean ( at least today so don't quote me on that) as you walk past the kids area. You will arrive at the skate park. Rather you roller skate or Skateboard this will be a fun area so bring your helmets and knee pads. I almost forgot to mention they also have pavilion that has built in workout equipment. So, no skates, no problem hit the weights. I really enjoyed myself definitely check it out! I have a...
