12/10/21 Saw steve-Os bucket list tour,Awesome as expected. is always great, staff cool, bartenders Awesome, wish I got his name but door man(security & girl that I also wish I got a name) were excellent and Awesome, security great, did what they could do to make it a safe environment as possible but one member (how he got the job beyond me) named DAVE, was horrible and pretty much killed the experience and show. Not even 3 minutes after purchasing a few beverages he comes up to myself and 2 friends at our seats and aggressively and non professionally says,"you got to go I'm not playing any games " maybe...4 times during me and my two friends ( being cooperative mind you) are following him tobthe down stairs exit. He wouldn't explain what we or myself did wrong, give a name (I wanted so I could talk to a manager) or anything besides poor attitude. One thing he did once on the ground level he did was let me finish my mix drink I had just paid for but in a rushed manner, the uncapped beer I purchased had to stay behind. Once outside he then qnd only then explained I was taking photos of show that was prohibited, after him walking back inside, the two door people explained it wasn't allowed and that there were signs posted (in a calm professional way) I agreed with them and only explained that as I was entering it was never said personally and I did not spot the signs. Mostly due to when first arriving both doors were open making the sign non visible and I was busy being excited and talking to both friends. Luckily the woman that was outside by the door security was nice enough to get the manager after DAVE "security " would not. Was asked how many times I was told and or approached I answered truthfully. ONCE and was confused on the reasoning until. Manager was kind enough to do a quick "investigation " and allowed me back. All I can say is the "security guard " DAVE should not be in that position and ruined the night for me and two friends who were paying customers and consumers of their offerings (adult beverages and merch) I'm not sure if I want to go back nor would I be recommending anyone to attend THE STRAND unfortunately because of DAVE and his unprofessional self. He alone brings or brought that...
Read moreEvery time I've gone to a concert at The Strand I've had a blast! They have 3 types of tickets available for purchase: balcony seating, floor admission and VIP. The balcony, which is the general admission ticket price, is on the 2nd floor & has a ton of auditorium type seating. The seats are on a first come first serve basis as there are no assigned seats. Although you're far away from the stage, this venue is so small so it's really not that far! The first time I went, we sat in the furthest seat back & still had an amazing time! The floor ticket is more expensive than the balcony ticket & is located on the first floor, below the balcony & in front of the stage. The floor section was great bc we were so close to the stage (again it's a free for all, so you can get as close to the stage as you can) & there were 3 bars. The negatives on the floor tickets are: there are no actual seats & when the main act comes on, it gets super crowded & hot. For a little more money you can upgrade your floor tickets to VIP. VIP tickets allow you the same access as the floor ticket holders except you're allowed onto one of 2 small VIP sections (on each side of the room) which are very small, roped off areas, with limited seating (but seating nonetheless) & a couple small tables.
There is technically no smoking inside the venue, but as long as you're not blatant & blowing it in the employees face, they allow it, & you should 100% expect it. For cigarette smokers, there is a small, roped off, smoking area outside one of the side doors. The drinks are expensive, the bathroom always has a line & It's crowded as hell, but all-in-all, this venue is great if your favorite band is playing there, bc its...
Read moreWent to see Get the LED Out, a Led Zeppelin Tribute Band. Nice small Venue with really no bad seats due to the cozy size. Located in Downtown Providence at 79 Washington Street. The Venue has a Main Level and a smaller Balcony Level upstairs. The show started at 8:30 PM, and their doors opened at 7:30 PM. Getting in was quick and orderly, and all the Bar Staff and Security were cool and friendly. We sat on the Main Level in the last Row of Seats before the Standing Room Only Area. The Stage wasn't all that far from where we were seating even though we were in the very last row of seating, so we could see everyone in the Band clearly. The sound was good and we enjoyed the experience. The Venue had several Bars along all sides and a couple towards the Backside, so there was practically no wait to get your drinks, and they served drinks all night, which was much appreciated. The only consideration is finding parking, as the Venue itself doesn't offer any. However, there are plenty of available parking lots in the area of downtown Providence. These Lots generally charge $20.00 during Events like last night Probably a good idea to get there a little early, close to when they open their doors to find parking close by. Being located right in Downtown Providence also has advantages for any plans you may have for after the shows, with several Bars and Restaurants all within a very short walking distance of the Strand. Providence is a great little City that is easy to navigate, just minutes from Route 95, filled with excellent Restaurants and fun Bars. Overall, the Strand is a great Venue to see shows and also get a feel for the great City of Providence. Highly...
