The Providence Children’s Museum is an absolute gem for families looking for an engaging, educational, and fun-filled experience. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is inviting, colorful, and full of energy, making it the perfect place for kids to explore and learn through play. The exhibits are incredibly well-designed, catering to a variety of interests and age groups. The Water Ways exhibit was a huge hit, allowing kids to experiment with flowing water, pipes, and fountains in a hands-on way. The ThinkSpace section encourages problem-solving and creativity, while the Littlewoods area is perfect for younger children to safely play and explore. One of the standout features is how interactive everything is—kids aren’t just looking at exhibits; they’re fully immersed in them! The museum is also very well-maintained, with clean facilities and friendly, helpful staff who ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. There are plenty of seating areas for parents to take a break while still keeping an eye on their children. Overall, the Providence Children’s Museum is a must-visit for families in the area. It’s a place where kids can let their imaginations run wild, all while learning and having a great time. Highly recommended!

What a marvelous, magical place. There are so many fun things for kids to do that the ONLY problem is getting the kids to leave. Furthermore, not only do they care about kids at the PCM, but they also care about the kids' parents. July 2024, I took my kids to the museum and developed a migraine headache. I sat in a corner holding my head, and I'd only been there 10 minutes when a staff member, Arthur, saw me. He found a dark, quiet room for me to wait out the headache, and even came back periodically to give me reports on my children's status (happy & making tie-dye bandanas). What a kindness! What a fabulous place! Once I was better, which took about an hour, I took my kids to the water room, which is a child's paradise. It has so many ways to play and experiment in one room! The museum is simply magical for kids, and this adult can't fully express how grateful she is for this WONDERLAND with its thoughtful & considerate staff.

Like a playground but much cooler. 3 things that my kids loved most: 1: Vacuum tubes. Remember, the vacuum tubes take one scarf at a time. 2: Water room. The museum's water room is cascades of fun(literally) and a great introduction to understand the flow of water as element. Kids will get wet quicker than you can saw “vortex." For that reason, water aprons are provided. 3: Upstairs themed rooms: where kids can learn about themselves, RI multicultural heritage and the world. Dance, touch, measure, build, dress up - play and exploration are present everywhere. An advice for parents: wear comfortable clothing to keep up with your children. There are plenty of seating options to give you a break and inspirational quotes(in English and Spanish) to keep your mind busy if it needs to be. Next time we will bring our lunch and have a picnic in the many places inside or outside!

It’s unfortunate they decide to open Sunday mornings for private events with no mention of this online. I have attached a screenshot of what comes on Google when you search before you go. They could have easily changed/updated t this but chose not because they are lazy. They did adjust their phone system about the event but really who calls places these days??? Everything is online. What are they senior citizens running it. I drove 45 minutes here with two excited kids and a baby, for the rotten woman to open the door and tell one person not in our group and then run in and shut the door rudely. I can promise I will NEVER go back after this. 45 minutes there and back wasted and gas isn’t cheap these days either 😡 won’t be returning or recommending this business at all. It’s too mad they care about there big

WOW, what an excellent experience for our family! We have 2 young boys and they loved every minute of this museum. There were lots of different areas to learn and play in as well as exhibits between each. You can be a masonry, work on a ship, market worker, and many more. There were ample bathrooms all around the museum to change diapers, use bathroom, ect. There was even an entire water room to play in which was my kids absolute favorite part. I think we spent almost an hour there. I do recommend you wear a bathing suit for the star room if you kids like to play in water tables. The museum truly understands what it means to be a children's museum, if we lived closer we would be there all the time. Great staff too, keep up the great work and donate if you can give anything to help them out!

Nothing but good to say about this museum. There were lots of fun, interactive games and objects for children to play with. There were areas for building things, a water room, air tubes, a little tree house, an outdoor section with little caves, fish tanks and all kinds of things with which my toddler could interact. He loved running up and down the ramps leading to the second story. The staff was friendly and welcoming as well and the museum was of moderate size. Similar to the size of most children's museums but I've definitely seen larger. I went when crowds were small but I'm sure the place gets packed, so make sure to go early. It's nice that it has free, dedicated parking which is always a plus in the city.
