I never write reviews, ever. I hate complaining or even admonishing a great job, but my last visit to guitar center takes the cake for being abysmal. Now, I have to say that sometimes the customer is just dead wrong and I completely sympathize with people in the business . With that said, If you're going to offer your help don't drag your feet and pout because I asked to try out guitars several guitars. I'm spending thousands of dollars, I have to make sure I'm making the right decisions and so trying out several guitars is part of it...specially when they're all locked up. Man, was it like pulling teeth when I asked to try out several guitars. Are they not to be played and tried out when a prospective customer walks in? I come in every week and buy things . I've bought (and kept) several effects pedals and microphones in the past month, so there was no reason to treat me like a broke high school with no money looking to piss the workers by trying out guitars I'm not even gonna buy? On top of that ( and the thing that made it an unpleasant experience ) the lady who helped me out gave me the worst attitude, ever, from any store. She gave me the look you give to someone that just kicked your dog or something . I could tell she hated me, but her contained anger for me had no foundation! I needed to try out guitars, lady! I'm dropping 2 grand on a guitar, I worked hard for this money and I want to make the right decision ! That's not how you treat a customer ! I'm never going to that guitar center in the near future.
In addition to this cluster of bad customer service, she , ordered the wrong guitar once I had chosen a guitar (as there weren't any new in stock) ! Oh, and when I paid for the guitar I was handed the wrong receipt! I noticed at around 12:30am after I got home and went to save my receipt. I automatically freaked out because then I just blew all that money and had nothing to say I bought from them! Why was I handed a receipt with the wrong customer name and the wrong ordered items ?! I'm the moment it was confirmed that she just wanted me out of the store . I have never been treated this harshly by anyone in my life. I guess it worse when it's under the guise of someone who's supposed...
Read moreWent into the Rancho Cucamonga location a few days ago back in the department where they sale Headphones and Mics. I was in search of Sennheiser 660's. I noticed that they were not on display. I was going to ask the cashier in that area for assistance but he was with another customer. Another female employee jumped on the cashier next to him and didn't appear to be helping anyone else so I asked her "Are you available for help"? She looked puzzled and confused so I asked again "Are you available for assisting me with finding and Item. Seeming bothered she asked "What is it you are looking for"? I told her the Brand and model of the Headphones and the guy cashier next to her answered for her stating "oh yeah we doing carry those". I asked her if it was something that I can order. I was told by both of them that if the distribution center was not stocked with the item then I can't order them. I politely asked if the can check with the distribution center and the guy replied "I already checked and we don't have them". As I walked back to my car I realized that they never checked the inventory one time during our conversation. I sat down in the car, went on the Guitar Center website and found the Item that I was looking for and saw that I could have it sent to that Guitar Center in 3 business days unlike what I was told in the store. I still can not understand why they did not want to help me with they Transaction. It was not a busy day and the store was near empty, Maybe I didn't look like the type of guy that can afford $600 headphones so they didn't take me serious. Either way the interaction mad me feel bad enough and gaslit enough to leave a review which I...
Read moreGood selection, easy access, but high retail prices. You can hold and try out many of the instruments, which often makes the trip there worthwhile. I bought one of their store-brand portable keyboard stands in a new box. It was not as well built and certainly not as easy to assemble as the high end name brands yet was also in the same price range. I only bought it because they didn't stock the high-end name brand model I wanted. I needed a stand that night. I will not buy Guitar Center store brand items again.
Workers were helpful IN the store, but on the phone the ones I spoke to were flat out either lazy, incompetent, overworked, and otherwise unhelpful. I asked them whether a specific item, by make and model number, was in stock and whether a demo instrument was available. The first woman put me on hold for over 10 minutes and never came back to the phone. I called a few hours later, reached another female voice, possibly the same woman, and she gave me bogus information. She simply did not listen to what I was saying. I called back several hours after that, reached a man who understood what I wanted but gave me the wrong info on the item's status. He and the woman or women seemed rushed, too. I don't fault them for that as the place can get busy.
Their return policy is good, but read it closely...
