I really like The Hat in Rancho! Whenever you’re in southern California, you must visit this place. They make amazing hot pastrami sandwiches with lots of pastrami piled high. The order of fries is big enough for 2-3 people to share. They serve it in a brown lunch bag! They always serve you quickly. Don’t miss out on eating at The Hat! #thehat #ca #ranchocucamonga #g #foodie #cali #rancho #cornedbeef

The Hat has become an iconic staple to the surrounding cities stretching all over Southern California. The Hat has had loyal followers that are willing to travel to full fill their cravings for the chili cheese fries or their famous pastrami. Once you've had a pastrami, your hooked. Ive been hooked for over 40+ years. Give them a try and see what tens of thousands of people are talking about. Update: The Hat is still as popular as ever. No masks required. Definitely no 6' ft distancing going on there. Food is still tge bomb, just a little more pricey these days. Then again what isn't these days. So basically nothing has changed, back to business as usual. Update #2: no change here. The Hat actually seems busier now than before. Service is quick and friendly. Food is excellent. Atmosphere is busy, noisy and like usual, have to wait for a seat unless you want to sit outside. I choose the drive-thru. Never gonna stop coming here. Try it... Update: just recently went to pick-up a late night snack after a hockey game. Nothing has changed. Staff are friendly and great. Food is on point as usual. Just watch when you go, the time of day. My last visit was mid evening and it was extremely packed but they do service pretty quick.

The service was great, the food was good. They hook it up really good, god dang 😁. In the end of the day, if you are going to walk in here thinking this is Katz Deli in NYC (not worth it btw) or Lengers in Los Angeles, you will be disappointed. The food is meant to be cheap, trashy and delicious at the same time. It's not fancy. It's when you got the munchies šŸ˜. It's an acquired taste. I don't know how to explain it more. I will say this, it fed the whole family for a good price which I appreciate and they deserve the business, they are busy for good reason. Update: I finally had their tuna melt. God damn. Honestly the best tuna melt I have had outside my house, I don't usually get a tuna melt at any resteraunt. The sandwhich was perfection. You will definetly hit your omega 3 levels eating it šŸ˜‚ Man I just love this place. I really do. The wet fries were so good too.

This place is great if you want to hang out with some friends late one day and get some food. The food is very reasonably priced and tasty. Just be aware that adding pastrami to the fries or adding extra pastrami will set you back more than $5. Their chili cheese fries are good but once you get about half way you are just left with fries and no chili or cheese.

Some tips. You can add tomatoes, onions, and pickles to the chili cheese fries for a very low cost. I think its around 1 or 2 dollars to add all three. It makes it a lot better if you like those items. The pastrami sandwich actually has too much pastrami if you ask me but it is really good and bread is nice and the sauces not overpowering.

Another thing to be aware of is whenever you ask for extra of anything (chili on fries, etc.) they look at you like "why are you like this" I get that they are busy but sometimes they do skimp on the portions. There's always a lot of fries but not so much of the...
