Extreme Escape Redding — Attraction in Redding

No set opening or closing times posted anywhere on their site or at either location in person, nobody on the phone seems to know exactly when they open or close either. Showed up to the main location around 4pm with my group, it was locked up and said “be back at 4pm” on the door, waited for over 20 minutes and nobody showed up. Turns out there was only a singular person working and they were at the secondary location down the street. We did the new “Doms Diner” room as that was the only one available. The room was not properly restaged, our gamemaster had to come back into the room multiple times to set up the clues properly which were very hit-or-miss with how they led you into the next clue and progressed the game. We ended up completing the room but it was hardly a celebration after being irritated and having our immersion broken multiple times. We have loved this place for years and have been loyal customers but sadly they don’t truly care about their customers and are just about taking money. Their system had a glitch and messed up our reservation and we reached out immediately and they refused to make it right. Wanted to charge us MORE money on top of the 150 we already paid. (By giving us a 50% off making the room a total of 255.00) The owners just decided not to respond to us after multiple emails and messages. They responded one time then wouldn’t call us back or email back to hear us out. We were told they were too busy when we just really wanted to clarify what happened and come to a conclusion. Just a super big bummer. We love to support local businesses but they really did us dirty. Hope they feel good about themselves taking money and not providing a service. Really liked it a lot! Did the "Hunter" themed room. Many cool parts to it. Staff seemed into the experience which is alwaya a plus.

Two critiques on the room specifically would be one puzzle just would not work for some reason which was a bit of time waster (the host confirmed with us it wasn't functioning and refunded time while we troubleshooted - very nice) and there is one puzzle near the end that I don't think 50% of Americans could do. If you aren't over 5'6 or under 200 - I seriously don't think you could finish the last puzzle. Let's just say my elbow hurt by the end of it.

My last note is that they give clues via a digital screen, which also always shows the time remaining. Love both aspects as you track how far along you are while also not breaking the atmosphere as much when giving clues. Whenever you need to get a clue orally, it takes me out of it.
