I went to Final Draft for happy hour on a Thursday. There was not a very big crowd but those that were there included several families with small children who were actively playing with the house bean-bag game.
Their selection of housemade beers were quite extensive and there were quite a few available for the $5 happy hour special, several unfortunately named for personality disorders. I chose the Obsessive Compulsive IPA and it was very good, very hoppy and medium bodied, however, I might have felt different about it if I had a family member who suffered from OCD.
I also ordered the Steak Happy Nachos which, unfortunately, did not make me happy. It seemed like something you would get at a bowling alley, decent meat but the chips were covered in the type of "Nacho Cheese" that comes in a big can from one of the major food distributors like Cisco. My waiter, Jacob, asked me what I thought about the nachos and I told him. He then offered to bring me some of their house made beer-cheese dip made with their Miso Honey ale. It was complexly delicious and tasted like real cheese. I used any chips that weren't drowned in the melted cheese food product to dip in the sauce. Jacob then offered to bring me a fresh bowl of chips which was just what I needed. I also ordered the Super Colossal Onion Rings and they were great.
As I sat there I noticed that my server was not the only one who gave excellent service. This impressed me and made me want to go back and get one of their delicious looking burgers that I saw other people enjoying. Jacob also gave me a sample of his favorite beer (called "That's What He Said") which was a smart way to insure my return visit.
The restaurant is diabled-friendly with a large ramp outside and plenty of wheelchair...
Read moreWe have been going here at least three times a month since they opened. Servers John and Isiah are fantastic. Beer is great. Food is good. Now the problem; on a recent visit, the onion rings were over cooked and greasy. I asked to send them back for new ones. Upon their return, it was the same onion rings. I asked the server to bring some fries instead, which had obviously been sitting around for quite a while.
Upon leaving, I asked t o speak to the manager named Andy (sp?) who approached the table with an attitude. After explaining the situation to her, she said she directly saw to the cooking of new onion rings herself. (Pretty good trick when you are standing behind the bar for the one minute it took for the onion rings to return to the table.)
Andy's demeanor continued to deteriorate after I explained that we received a $62.00 bill for a $42.00 meal. She blamed the server, telling us he billed it under appetizers. This was not so. I told Andy it did not appear to me she cared about customer service and she became upset further after I told her I did not believe that she was telling me the truth about the onion rings or the bill. There was no offer to comp the beer or food items, not that I was looking for that. She ended the conversation saying that if I wished to not return to the restaurant, that was my choice. This is the second like encounter with Andy and her argumentative and disrespect for customers.
I am very disappointed as I really liked the food, beer, and servers but I will not return. Final Draft does a very good business and I am relatively sure they could care less about loosing my business, but is this really how you treat...
Read moreI am from Sacramento and was in town for the day. This place was suggested to me by an employee at a local business so I thought I'd check it out.
Since I'm not local it took me a few minutes to figure out parking but that's on me. I walked in and I wanted to love it..... and I almost did. I wish I could give a 4.5 star....
The place looks great. I was there for lunch so it was slow but my firsy thoughts were that it would be a blast in the evening.
My server was great. She was friendly and did a good job overall.
The beer was pretty good. There wasn't a specific one that I had to buy a growler of but I tried 5 tasters and all were good.
The food.... it was ok. This is where they lost a star. It could have been really good but it lacked. I got the Brewmaster Burger and if you read about it.... sounds amazing.... Mine however had so little of the beer bacon raspberry jam I didn't taste any of the flavor from that, there was almost zero aioli on it, there was very little avocado and the pepper jack had no pepper bite to it... it also was cooked medium well when I asked for medium rare.. BUT with all of that said it was still ok. That's why it's disappointing. If it was done right I think it would have been super tasty.
Overall I'd try it again when I'm back in town. If I was local I'm sure I'd...
