I had never heard about Home Zone Furniture until a friend mentioned that he wanted to stop by after seeing their repeated ads on social media and television. We first visited the Lewisville store. At first impressions, I got this feeling this was an outlet-style store. While the staff were willing to answer questions, the answers were brief and little more was offered in terms of getting to know the brand, qualifying our needs, or making recommendations.
We then visited the flagship store in Allen and had a completely different experience. We were greeted promptly upon entering, the merchandising looked more like a new furniture store, they were heaps of accessories not found at the first location, and even more new furniture options to consider. I suspect the stand-alone Allen location is two or three times the size of the Lewisville store. Laura (the assistance manager from the Richardson location who was assisting Allen for the day) was VERY helpful. Kaci also answered our questions here and there. I dread furniture shopping as it is generally a hard pitch from a helicopter salesperson who is looking to beat a commission out of you. Not the case here! We learned that the sales team is not commission based, and this was evident in their approach to serviceā¦attentive and helpful while allowing you the space and time to browse at your leisure. We were even offered a beverage and ice cream sandwich while we browsed. I would also like to point out that the public restrooms were tidy, well stocked, and clean. We needed to take some measurements before making a purchase, but Laura kindly offered her business card.
We were so impressed by Laura's service that we visited her home store in Richardson to finalize our purchase. Again, we were promptly greeted upon entering the store. The salesperson quickly grabbed Laura for us, and again, she was super helpful. I fully attribute the sale to Laura's relaxed professionalism and kindness, followed by the fact that much of the furniture is manufactured locally. Laura went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and made the entire process smooth and stress free. It is my hope that Laura is recognized in the organization and on a fast track to earning her own store as the general manager should that be in her career path goals.
Again, I would put furniture shopping right there with buying a car, having a root canal, or paying taxes. Laura won me over as a Home Zone Furniture customer. I would definitely recommend to others in the market for local made, fairly priced, quality furniture from a team of salespeople not motivated by nasty commissions, but rather to build repeat customers.
The delivery process was smooth and efficient with the advance reminders, driver tracking, and a very patient...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATED REVIEW: Originally, the one piece I was looking for was priced at ~25% off in-store. This location was understaffed, so we migrated to the Allen location for our final purchase. Allen HZ told us they would price match it, but when they spoke with Richardson HZ, Allen HZ was told it's full price.
The sideboard sat alone on the backside of a couch, 20 feet inside at 11 o'clock with nothing on it or anything beside it - except for the custom fabric rack which doesn't have price tags. On the other end of the fabric rack, there was a different sideboard, but I couldn't tell you a thing about its' design or price [because it's not what I wanted].
Even if there was countertop decor or lamps on this sideboard, there's no way they would be going for $799, or the marked down $599, each.
This day ended in disappointment & frustration.
Although, we did still purchase from Allen HZ for 2 custom three-piece City Limits II sectionals & a custom Titan Chair & Ottoman.
The following day, the regional manager called directly, and personally apologized for the misunderstanding. He also offered the piece at 50% off.
There are a handful of ways this scenario could've been avoided before things reached a bad review, but ultimately, the solution offered neutralizes the headache.
This surely won't be the last time we visit a Home Zone, but the Allen location will be our choice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe moment we walked into HomeZone in Richardson, I was impressed. The store is beautifully lit with warm lighting and the smell is amazing. Right away it feels welcoming, almost like walking into a home. The staff has clearly put effort into creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
We were greeted by Trevor, who immediately let us know that salespeople here do not work on commission. That instantly put me at ease. He also offered us water, Dr. Pepper, and even some ice cream, which was such a nice touch and made us feel taken care of.
Throughout our visit, Trevor was warm, friendly, and never pushy. He explained where the furniture is made, that it is American-owned with much of it crafted right here in Texas, and he broke down the different grades of leather. He represented the store and brand so well, more like an ambassador than a salesperson.
I came in not planning to buy anything, but because of the relaxed and pressure-free environment Trevor created, I ended up finding several pieces I plan to purchase in the future. His professionalism and genuine approach made all the difference.
Well done Trevor. You made the visit memorable and I am sure others will have the same experience. HomeZone truly showcases the best of a high quality Texas and...
