I had taken my hp pavilion to several different places in the hopes of getting it fixed so that I would not have to buy a new one. I actually found computer cave after another computer repair company screwed up something entirely different, after repairing the original issue. I had taken my laptop back to the original place (before going to computer cave) and complained about my keyboard not responding. They did an online keyboard check and it appeared that everything was fine (of course my keyboard was working again as I was taking it back in to complain about it not working). However, after getting back home and pulling it out again, random keyboard keys were just not responding and I was just frustrated. That's when I called Computer Cave (I called several other places before calling CC, and honestly just felt a good vibe over the phone). Michael answered, was very cordial, and said he could do a diagnostic right away. I then made my way over over to their place of business and they starting helping me right away. I could tell that Michael and his business partner or coworker were taking extreme care and caution when looking at/disassembling the computer to diagnose the issue (the issue that the original repair place actually caused). They were able to figure out why random keyboard keys were not responding, as well as the keyboard backlight, and took it back behind the counter into the repair room. They were able to fix this issue by switching on some sort of switch (I am not computer literate) inside the hardware of the computer that should have been switched upward. This fixed my keyboard response and also the backlight issue. Michael also pointed out that the charger I was using could cause potential damage to my computer. In fact, the charger I had been using was not really charging my laptop at all and actually may have caused the original issue I had before (a damaged charge port). The charger was damaged and was missing a piece inside of it that would connect to the laptop charge port. Again, this was something else I had not noticed, because I had just gotten back my laptop the day prior from the original repair place. The moral of the story is that Michael and his coworker (didn't ask his name) actually fixed my laptop and did not even charge me. They were just really nice guys and I could tell they were passionate about what they do. The whole experience lasted about 25 minutes. They explained everything they were doing and the tests they ran to make sure that these issues were fixed. Michael even offered me advice on specific chargers to use that best fit my laptop. I never write reviews, but I was compelled to write one about this place in particular. I'm not saying they will repair your computer for free, but the work they put in is meticulous, focused, and high level. I really do appreciate the help I received there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt know whatās in their water but I wish everyone would drink it! My experience with Computer Cave was exceptional! My contact with the company began with Hagen with my simply calling in to explain my issues, learn their process and understand what I could expect. I was already impressed with how they had provided a service for my brother and this prompted my call to Computer Cave. From there, it was a no-brainer to have them to do the repairs needed on my computer. I, actually, sent my computer from Georgia to Virginia for these repairs. No one else in my local area had come close to the exceptional quality of service or cost, even just in preliminary discussions or through assistance by phone with Apple, to what Computer Cave offered and delivered. Shane communicated often to keep me updated on every thing I might need to know. He was extremely thorough and I could not be more grateful for having, virtually, a brand new computer. I understand they can be extremely busier at times than others and this will affect turn around but the turnaround, in this case, even with them being busy was exceptional as well. From the time they received my computer and I received it back, in a different state, was less than a week! What really tops it all off is their level of professionalism, personable approach and efficiency! The gentleman I dealt with really seemed down-to-earth and genuinely good people. I could have been spared the agonizing, energy-draining, time-consuming and costly issues Iāve had with my computer over the past few years had I only known about Computer Cave earlier. They also gave my computer a much needed cleaning. If you have a computer issue, or any device issue that they can assist you with, Computer Cave is the place to go!! This Apple Certified store is exceptional!! Thank you Hagen and Shane and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is only after a lot of soul searching that I have decided to write this review simply because a one time piece of bad advice can just be a bad call. But that has not been my experience with Computer Cave I took my 6 year old $350 computer there for advice. Should I trash it or fix it? Fix it for $315. It will be as good as new and I would not need to buy word program Since the one i have was fully paid way back when. It will be ready in a few days. Actually it took 6 weeks. Also I was using the wrong charger and "needed a new one which probably caused the problem" even though I had always used it since it came new with the computer. Got it home it would not turn on. My wife returned it for me and before she left the shop and without me being consulted she paid them another $750 for another repair and a suggested terabyte if memory. Much of my memory, including a complete book was lost during the repair, it had to go back again to have what was not lost including thousands of pictures to be restored, they had mostly been encrypted. I was also sent home with the wrong charger that did not fit my computer and after 2 days of arguing which almost came to blows because I received a call with with many apologies admitting they did give me the wrong charger. So if I include about $24 in parking, forget about trips there, then add $315 plus $750. I ended up with a 6 year old computer that had originally cost me $350 after having invested almost$1100 based on what I believe was initially a bad call but later a not so honest sales pitch to my wife. It is my opinion that in the end this turned out to be another scam perpetrated on an 81 year old man and his wife. So, you be the judge about whether or not to use Computer Cave. As for me, my only expectation to have additional contact with them is in a small...
