Went to this spot because I passed by it on the way to the hard shell beside it. I made reservations for 8 pm 2/7/25. I was excited to go because the restaurant looked really nice inside. Once my finance and I arrived, the place looked closed. The other side, the nice restaurant side, was closed down. It was only 8:15. They closed @10 or 11 I believed. We proceeded inside and the lady at the bar greeted us and she asked us how many people were dining. Although she spoke, she seemed irritated. She told us we could sit anywhere so we sat down in a booth. The same lady came and took our drink orders. She then came and took our food order. My fiance and I got the same vibe. She just didn’t seem cool. Besides our waitress, the food was pretty on point. I did order a margarita flight which taste like juice, I then ordered a bigger margarita, which did what it was supposed to do. I also went to this spot because I was told they have like a dance party at night. When I asked about it, the waitresses answer was a bit rough. A straight “no” then she walked off. While the food and all was good, we just didn’t feel welcomed fr. The man waiter was polite and...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Mas Tequila & Tacos in Shockoe Slip, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, the vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff set the stage for a fantastic meal.
I started with a house margarita, which was perfectly balanced—refreshing, tangy, and just the right amount of kick. It paired wonderfully with the Mexican street corn in a bowl, which was a delightful surprise! Topped with my choice of Cheetos or Doritos, it added a fun crunch that elevated the dish to a whole new level.
For the main event, I indulged in both the pork belly taco and the shrimp taco. The pork belly was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, while the shrimp taco was fresh and zesty, making it hard to pick a favorite. Each bite was a celebration of authentic Mexican flavors that left me craving more.
Overall, Mas Tequila & Tacos is a must-visit if you're in Richmond. The creative menu, exceptional service, and lively atmosphere make it a standout spot for taco lovers. I can't wait to return and try more of their...
Read moreThe food is absolutely fantastic. The first time I came here I got the tacos al pastor and they were phenomenal. The second time I came I got the quesabirria and it was absolutely succulent. The portion sizes are excellent, despite getting three tacos you also get a big dish of rice and beans. The quesadillas however are absolutely HUGE. The drinks are also out of this world. All of the fresh fruit margaritas are to die for. And if you ever want to imagine you are on a tropical island, order the Coco Loco margarita, you won't regret it. (If Maria is working, order a strawberry long Island iced tea.) The decor is very pleasing to the eye. The decorations are very tasteful and fit the theme of the restaurant. The staff are extremely friendly and make great conversation. They are also very attentive and I never had to sit long with an empty glass. Don't save this place for Taco Tuesday or Thirsty Thursday. If I could I'd come here every night. Come out and show Miguel and his staff some love and enjoy the best Mexican food and margaritas...
