Cool, little gem in downtown Roanoke. I'm in walking distance, and I've seen quite a few shows there...Billy Idol, Foreigner, and more. The bands always sound good. There's parking near, in walking distance, and shuttles may be available. There's handicap parking, but I would familiarize myself first. Many restaurants are within walking distance. The main entrance is on Franklin Road. There's no "soft" seats in the venue. It's all concrete. If it rains and you're cool with it, a rain poncho will be handy because there's no shelter (typically no umbrellas). There's porta johns, beer/wine vendors, and food trucks will probably be present..depends on the size of the event. I always check what's not permitted to avoid...
Read moreI've been many times, both as a Vendor (Event Marketing/Promo Model) and as a patron. Elmwood Park is such a great space for outdoor festivals, shows and events. It is well maintained and in the heart of downtown. Ample seating and they allow lawn chairs, blankets, etc as well. Handicap accessible and plenty of parking nearby (garages or street parking). One of my favorite things about Elmwood is that they showcase beautiful art sculptures by various artists that they change out frequently within the park. Read moreThe whole waiting in line to get your ID checked to buy alcohol. Then had to wait in line to get a ticket to purchase a beer. Next was the line for the beer it's self. The whole thought process needs to be reevaluated I think. And why would you make someone walk up and down a good size hill, that has been drinking?? Kinda dangerous if you ask me. Price on a beer was 5$ a piece and had to do all that, just to get a beer... come on guys, rethink...
