Back into the 11 plates per side tonight on hack squats but no PR since I only did 4 reps. The goal is always a minimum of 6 for me to recognize it as a set. I believe I tired myself out doing the previous sets prior. Pps= plates per side 3 pps 8 reps 5 pps 8 reps 7 pps 8 reps 9 pps 8 reps 10 pps 6 reps 11 pps 4 reps Next time I’ll make bigger jumps so I can plan to rep out 11 plates per side for a minimum of 6 reps Powered by @performaxlabs use JOE20 at checkout @vivobarefoot @officialgasp @cardilloweightbelts @anc_boston #squats #hacksquat #legday #training #quads #hamstringsworkout

1. Eat Enough Protein Most people think you have to eat 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight. You do NOT have to do that. Instead, aim for .8-1.2g per lb of GOAL bodyweight. So if you want to weigh 150lbs, eat around 130-150g of protein. Majority of my clients start at the 1g range as this is our lean body mass but some we build and stack from that .8 target depending on baselines. 2. Push Close To Failure & Lift Heavy If you’re doing a set of 8 reps, the last 1, 2, or 3 reps should be HARD, challenging reps. You should be really struggling, and yes, this is for EVERY set in your workout not just the last one. 3. Get on a real Strength Training Program I’m not talking about Orange Theory, Bootcamps, or just doing random machines in the gym. Nothing against any of those maintenance activities but if you’re trying to build muscle and change your body, those things are not optimizing that. Get on a program, follow it for 4-8 weeks, try to increase reps or sets every week. After you build a solid foundation you can make changes to your routine to avoid plateaus. For example, you can switch from reverse lunges to walking lunges or from pushups to DB bench presses. I promise, you’ll see your body change. ~ coach Lex šŸ‘Š #LRF #onlinefitnesscoach #workouttips #musclebuilding

Update 4/20/25, nothing much has changed, the gym remains in a very poor condition, mold fests in the shower areas, sewer smell in the clothing drying machine which today I noticed it was not hooked up to the drain underneath, so that water coming out of your clothes comes down on the ground leaving a big puddle. It's so unfortunate that this place has so much potential, but it's not being managed properly by customer oriented people. Used to be a good gym, hours are very limited after covid emerged, Covid is over and they still refuse to adjust their hours to make it accessible to the members on a daily basis...It can get very crowded and their schedule is not even close to the schedule of a small gym. They claim they dont have enough people late in the day to justify staying late, however when I get there at 8-9pm its usually still full. And they start calling to remind people of the closing time at 8:30 which means you are aware that those people will stay if you dont kick them out, On Friday they close at 9pm, Sat- Sun at 8pm - not reasonable at ALL. Equipment breaks and no maintenance or replacement is done, such as the Main ceiling clock, and the vacuum clothing drainer in the locker room. I kept telling the staff at the front desk that their faucets in the locker room were all broken at one point except one. they just replaced some of them with manual handle faucet which is a downgrade from the motion sensed. I was asked to complete a review, and with all the negatives, the manager (Ryan) called me. I know there is nothing much he can do as he is unable to budget without approval from his superiors, but I see other 24 hr fitness doing better in the area and have more flexible hours ( 24 hrs). I made him aware that recently I left the shower 4 min after the closing hour, and one of the night staff was waiting for me with a dead bolt cutter in the shower area and told me he was about to clip my lock. He tried to justify it as a protocol to ensure that no one leaves anything overnight in the lockers, however , I would assume that this is done after ensuring that there is no members left in the facility, which was not the case because he was in the locker room talking to other guys when I entered the shower at 8 pm of that weekend. Its disappointing to see a nice facility with a great potential for success to fall apart slowly.

Update: For over a month The shower in the wet area is broken, but they have they pool and hot tub open. People get out from the sauna and steam room and straight to the pool and hot tub. Can you blame them ? That's disgusting but management are to blame. The hot tub is overflowing making the water...

I have been attending this gym for nearly a year since moving to TX. The quality of this 24 Hour Fitness is about on par with the rest of the 24 Hour Fitness gyms that I have been to throughout Texas. The free weights are often disorganized and haphazardly strewn about throughout the gym. I have rarely seen staff clean or organize the equipment/free weights in the mornings and no one seems to have a real sense of urgency to replace paper towels in the dispensers on the weight room floor or replace the toilet paper in the men's locker room - Can't speak to the women's locker rooms.

The area near the Olympic lifting platforms and leg presses is often a mess with non-olympic weights hung on the racks, wet spots on the flooring from a leak in the roof when it rains - I have seen the flooring be covered with yoga matting in an attempt to keep the surrounding area dry instead of mopping up the area and positioning 'wet floor' signs - and bar floor matting placed around the platforms instead of fixing the leak in the roof.

I am not sure what the procedures are for the staff and who's responsible for walking the floor throughout their shifts, but I do not see the front desk staff do much of anything other than talk to one another and/or be on their phones at the front desk, aside from 1 employee at the Rockwall location in the mornings. Overall, this location doesn't really look to put much emphasis on keeping the gym tidy or organized. I am not sure if there is a gap in communication to the staff, an oversight by whomever is managing the gym in the morning, or the folks hired for the morning just don't want to hold each other accountable, but I'll continue to attend the gym and clean & organize when/where needed. I will also continue to report any issues that may arise...

I have been a member for 7 months now and this place is NEVER clean. Literal dust bunnies everywhere. Mold.. MOLD on the steam room door and inside… I’m supposed to believe it’s cleaned once a week for 4 hours? Broken door handles, the steam room door handle is currently a wet, nasty SHOE LACE!! A toilet seat in the women’s restroom that is too small for the toilet. This is not an expensive item to replace. It’s a child size toilet seat on the toilet and it’s been there since February. The floors are so unbelievably disgusting and have never been vacuumed.. never!! Don’t even get me started on the overwhelming amount of broken machines, the squat rack that has been sitting on the workout floor, un-assembled, for months!! The sauna has now been out of order for a week(edit- 2.5 weeks now.), is that going to be broken for months too?? Just tell me now cause I keep getting told it’ll be fixed in a couple days and then it isn’t. Speaking of the sauna.. I’ve seen COCKROACHES in the sauna walking around under the wooden slats and in the drain line around the pool. Your company should be ashamed and the managers who run this place should be REPLACED. The only reason you have so many members at this location is because there is no other gym in the Rockwall area with a sauna. I promise that the second another gym opens on the area with a sauna.. you will 100% lose me as a member. Even if that gym costs twice the price, I...
