Me and my friend stopped here after driving, needing to use the public restroom located inside the building. The individual restroom was locked and the women’s restroom was closed, and it was an emergency. There was no one in the men’s restroom, and it was an individual closed private restroom, so my friend watched the door while I went so we would not catch anyone off guard. In the middle of doing my business the bathroom attendant would not stop banging on the restroom door and yelling at me to get out. I yelled can I please get my shorts on first and he yells I don’t care get out. I left and went in the individual stall that was finally not locked, but I was extremely humiliated. Seriously? It was an emergency, and no one was in there. we were not disturbing anyone. Honestly it was extremely humiliating and I hope someone takes the correct steps to retrain...

The manager is a real jerk! Just like a lot of the other creeps in St. Agony! I was using the unisex restroom and he knocks and says "need to clean it". "No problem, be out in a minute" I say. I go out and no one is there. I go to other restroom and use that. A knock on the door... "st. augustine police, open the door". I open the door and the jerk just stands there looking at the officer. Doesn't say a word. I wind up getting trespassed really for some reason I don't even know. I'm leaving St. Augustine tomorrow, thank God, and NO, I'M NOT...

So the Spanish settled St Augustine 42 years before the British settled Jamestown ... Amazing!

This exhibit tells the story of how hard it was and includes details about Native Americans and slaves too, quite rare in our Colonial-dominated culture.

Well done University of Florida! I cannot recommend this exhibit...

Completely hidden gem. I've been to St. Augustine scores of times and never visited this place. Great display put on by the University of Florida of the town's origins and interaction with the natives and other nations attempting to colonize the area at the time. No entry fee.

Looking for a free activity in St. Augustine? Check out the Governor’s House. It gives you a glimpse into the history of America’s oldest. The center houses tools and materials brought by the Spaniards. The plus is that it is less crowded than the Castillo museum.

Nice little museum with interesting exhibits on the production of chocolate and the history of the house. However the highlight is the gorgeous collection of lots of art masterpieces from different artists in the region.
