Great Beach but for sunsets go north 400 ft... Silver Beach State Park is a big, wonderful beach. I have been coming here since I was a kid. The sand is white and soft. There are massive jungle gyms for kids to climb on, swing sets, and lots of concerts all summer. Party on the white sand beach and swim in the shallow waters. There are restrooms, picnic areas, and parking is close-by. But see the photos below of sand dunes and amazing sunsets. They are actually from Tiscornia Park just 400 feet north on the other side of the channel. (You have to drive nearly 2 miles to get there.) Tiscornia Park has the same white sand but is the opposite of Silver Beach, small, and secluded. If you want a great party beach and fun features for kids, Silver Beach is your beach. If you want a romantic dunes and sunsets, consider Tiscornia. Both are great.

Great fine sand on the beach and beautiful view! The cost to park was $12 for the day for Michigan residents. I recommend bringing some kind of sunshade if you don't want to be putting on sunscreen all day. The water was a bit too cold for swimming but helped for a quick cool down. The place on the beach for food and drinks was very overpriced, but the Chicago style hotdogs had tomato, onions, a pickle and some jalapeño which was tasty. There is a very nice playground for the kiddos. The showers are all outside to help clean off sand essentially. Silver Beach Pizza Restaurant had a long wait, but was delicious and we noticed there were more pizza options in the restaurant than the to-go spot. The lavender gimlet was delicious, strong and very lavender! Overall great time.

I'm a walker, 3+ miles a day. If I'm not playing golf or swimming in my swim spa, my favorite place to walk is Silver Beach. I'm a trained lifeguard when we had a cabin at Huntington Beach, California. I was a "Surfer Girl" and planned to save myself. I did save several folks along the way. When I'm walking at Silver Beach I'm always looking for someone to save. A few months ago I convinced a kid who was about to go pier diving by himself, not to go. I always sit near the lifeguard station when the lifeguards return to school at the end of the summer. I look at the ring and bouys on the station and am ready to save someone. I'm in my 70's now, but I'm always ready to save someone.

A nice beach. Lots of sand, so even on busy days you can stake out some ground. Summer has entry rates. $8 a day for those living in Berrien County. $15 a day for non residents. $40 a year if that's your thing. You can park up the bluff for free and walk down though. This will be changing though. The city is going to charge for parking to reduce congestion. The beach has a fast food type place that is better than McDonald's, but not much. Lots of playground stuff spread about. My favorite spot is up on the dune amongst the trees to get a little respite from the sun. If you go expecting Hawaii you'll be disappointed. If you go expecting a normal lake beach you'll be quite pleased.

Beautiful beach perfect for a day out in the sun and waves. Perfect for families with kids of all ages, especially young ones. There are actual restrooms not just porto-pottys. There is an outdoor shower area for rinsing, and a quick service food shack where you can get burgers, hotdogs, fries, ice cream sundaes, and even essentials like sunblock, sand toys, etc. You can rent beach chairs as well. Children will enjoy the play area with lots of swings, slides, and jungle gyms. There is also a huge splash pad that shoots water. Life guard on duty at the beach. No alcohol & pets allowed though...Don't think twice, this is a great place for the summer, come with your family!
