I rented a minivan from this location because I needed to drive to Los Angeles, CA to pick up a window for my Tesla. The first van they rented me had a problem with the brakes and the alignment. It would have been miserable driving all the way to Los Angeles having to fight the car constantly pulling to the right. So I was able to swap the car out before I left town. Then I got to Los Angeles and picked up the window. I was just getting ready to start driving home when I dropped my card under the drivers seat. I had to move the seat all the way back to reach my debit card. Once I retrieved my card I tried moving the seat back to the correct position, but it wouldn’t move. I tried every direction and still nothing. This happened at 8:00 pm so the rental locations were closed and so were the local mechanic shops. Because of this issue I was forced to rent another hotel and stay another night to wait for the repair shop to open in the morning. Once the mechanic looked at the van he determined it was a blown fuse that was not allowing the electrical current to move the seat forward so that I could reach the pedals and drive safely. Well finally I was on my way home but not only did it cost me the repair bill, but it cost me an extra rental day at 3 times what I originally paid per day. I think it’s not fair that enterprise charged me for the extra days at triple the rate, then made me pay for the repair bill, and the cost of the hotel. How does enterprise feel it’s right to over charge me for the extra rental days, the repair bills to fix their van, all on top of a hotel and food etc. enterprise has gone down hill when it comes to taking care of their customers and customer service. I will never rent from enterprise again as long as I live? P.S. enterprise needs to keep their vehicles maintained better to prevent this from happening to customers who get there trip ruined or worst customers get seriously injured or killed due to the vehicles...
Read moreTerrible experience. When I came in to extend my rental they took another $200 deposit, they failed to explain that they were keeping my first $200 deposit when I did this. I assumed it was just standard practice, they never said otherwise. Considering they work there that should’ve been their responsibility to tell me that big piece of information. I didn’t find this out until the days after returning my rental.
When I called to inquire about this, they couldn’t explain it besides ‘bringing it up to charges.’ The accounting was done as one entry so they couldn’t determine why my first $200 was kept, my first and extended rental were one charge. So I called customer service, and it was based in India. The man on the phone just said the first deposit was kept because I extended my rental. And again, if the store had told me this when I was going to extend, I wouldn’t have, failure of communication. The website even leads you to believe the extended rate might be better than you first few days.
I got a phone call a day after returning my rental telling me my deposit was being returned and the car was in good condition. SO One deposit was returned (sigh) So it wasn’t damaged. And a day or two after that they charge me ~$25 dollars with absolutely no call, text, email, anything. This is crumby. Why was I charged? You TOLD me the car was accepted and my deposit was being credited back to me. No explanation for this additional charge. It was cleaned in and out. You need to communicate things to your customers instead of sneaking in charges after the deal is complete and fail to mention the bombshell that extending your rental with forfeit your...
Read moreThis is the first time I have posted a poor review on any compay. But the service and price gouging is unacceptable and others should be aware of the practices and service at the Enterprise car rental at 843 S State in SLC.
I rented a truck from this shop on August 1, 2024 because my truck was in the body shop due to a deer running out in front of me in mountains above SLC.
My initial contract had me returning the rental truck on Aug 14th for a price of $1,092.88. As with many repairs these days, shipping parts has extended the repair process and its likely an additional two weeks before I can get my truck back. Due to the unforseen delays I extended the rental agreement twice thru August 29, 2024 for $2,592.35. Looking at the monthly rental rate for the same truck with Enterprise the rate is $1,800 monthly.
On August 29, I talked to Brent the office manager about extending the rental an additional 2 weeks and reducing the charge to the monthly rate. He had zero interest in working with me to adjust the rate. He handed me his card and did not give me any options on how to resolve my concerns. Brent and Enterprise would be better served to have him working in accounting not dealing with the public.
I have worked with Enterprise at this location in the past and have always been able to adjust the rate if my rental term is extended unexpectedly. Now their predatory practices have me out almost $800 and I can not afford renting another vehicle until my car repair is completed the 2nd week...
