I've never visited this church in person, but can say this church is led by an amazing pastor. Near Christmas in 2022, I contacted Rev. Jamie White from my home in Kentucky with a request. My father in law was a Presbyterian minister who had passed away in 2020. Shortly before that, he had located the grave of a brother that he had been unable to locate for decades, and had an official headstone placed. He got sick before he could visit it. I purchased some flowers and had them delivered to this church. With snow covering the ground, Rev. Jamie White collected a few other members and placed the flowers on his grave, sung a very special Christmas song, and gave the benediction my father in law never had the chance to give. So many of us are forever grateful the Rev. White took time out of her schedule, no doubt full with events of the Christmas holiday, to do this for a bunch of folks that she has never met. It's not what a church says about itself that one should consider, it's the ACTIONS of the church that tells the real story. Thank you Rev. White, hopefully one of these days we make it out there to see the grave ourselves and...
Read moreWhen our little family went through a faith journey and found ourselves free falling, First Presbyterian was such a beautiful and soft place to land. The congregation and pastor are so kind and welcoming, and the children's ministry is lovely with the best teachers! I had a huge list of things that I wanted from a new church, at the top of it was that I wanted to find a place that resulted in the least number of adults in therapy for religious trauma, lol, and I think we found it. The incredible architecture is just the cherry on top of a wonderful church experience. When they say 'All are welcome here', they mean it, without exclusion and with no...
Read moreThis is our family’s church. After leaving the lds faith 2.5 years ago we were floundering to find something that would welcome our family with our diverse views, would be a healthy place for our children and would focus on the love of Jesus. After visiting many churches and many disappointments later we found First Presbyterian. From the beginning we were welcomed and treated with love and kindness. Even my teens have felt like they are a part of something and are loved and included. The beautiful building has been the cherry on top. We honestly couldn’t ask for anything better. It took a while to find our people but it was worth...
