Tortillas were not of the quality one expects in San Antonioâfar from it. I ordered the six-pack, and each taco came wrapped in a 5-inch tortilla that had clearly seen better days. These werenât the crispy, overcooked tortillas you might get at the bottom of a bad batch. No, these had that telltale day-old texture, where all the fluff and flavor had evaporated, leaving behind a flat, lifeless shell. If I had to guess, theyâd been pulled straight from the refrigerator moments before a half-hearted pass on the griddle.
San Antonio is known for its incredible tortillasâwarm, pillowy, and fresh off the pressâbut these tasted like theyâd been forgotten in a back corner and reheated just enough to be passable. They didnât crack as you might expect from an overcooked tortilla; instead, they bent under the weight of the fillings, offering none of the warmth or aroma you expect when you lift a taco to your mouth.
The fillings themselves werenât much better. Bland, uninspired, and lacking in seasoning, they left me wondering if the kitchen had simply given up. For a place boasting 4.9 stars, the flavors were shockingly absent. Each bite left me wishing for the vibrancy and boldness that defines San Antonioâs taco scene.
To their credit, the staff was friendly and efficient, which keeps this from being a 1-star review. But no amount of good service can make up for tortillas that taste like theyâve been on a long, sad journey from fridge to plate. If youâre looking for tacos that do San Antonio justice, this isnât the place. Taco Capital doesnât live up to its nameâor its ratings.
The fillings were equally underwhelmingâbland and lacking the authentic flavors youâd hope for. Each bite was a disappointment. The staff was friendly, which is why this isnât a 1-star review, but unfortunately, good service canât make up for bad food.

Read moreExcellent food. Most of these type of taco places for the price uses low quality ingredients to increase their margins. Not this place! Really high quality for the price the ribeye asada tacos are excellent for 3 bucks you canât beat it.
The food comes with chips and 3 choices of delicious salsas with varying degrees of spiciness.
The food is prepared right in front of you and is extremely fresh.
The service is also excellent.
I very rarely leave reviews but this place is just so damn good and it never seems to be crowded I assume just because not many people know about this gem yet so I figured Iâd take the time to try to get the word out there. And judging by the other reviews they have (30 nothing but 5 star reviews) I can see Iâm not the only one who thinks so highly of this place.
We just recently started eating here but we will most definitely be regulars from...
Read moreIâm still here needing a moment to let my stomach settle before leaving. I stuffed myself haha.
The food here is so good that I will definitely come back or order from DoorDash. The atmosphere is chill and clean, and it's a nice find that I almost missed because the place next door was closed.
The chips were freshly cooked and tasted great with lime, salt, and the salsas. The star of the meal were the Suadero Tacos with grilled onions on corn tortillas. The brisket melted in my mouth with each bite and was so delicious. They were very filling, and even though I could have taken the second taco home, I chose to enjoy being happily stuffed here instead.
This place gets a 10/10 from me, and I rarely leave reviews, whether...
