ok ive been trying to stop at this place for the breakfast tacos since now they open in the mornings, didn't disappoint. one thing about restaurants this days is that they only care about service and many places forget or they dont care about PRESENTATION this place has a great atmosphere clean always good service and good tacos al pastor and gringas are amazing. the presentation, the flavor and just seeing when they are making the tacos as you order that makes a difference they are well priced specially in a combo. try both lunch and breakfast tacos and forget about overpriced big chain braakfast tacos or the other taquerias around medical center THESE ARE Legit good breakfast tacos.

My husband and I are in San Antonio often and Taco Capital is definitely now on our list of top places to eat when we visit! The owner and staff are super friendly and helpful, the restaurant is so clean and the tacos are soooo delicious. We ordered the Capital Pack so we could try each kind of taco. Six tacos for $14.99 and the tacos were well portioned... What a great deal. They have 3 types of hot sauce and came with onions, cilantro and pineapple on the side. Our fave was definitely the Campechano (asada and al pastor with cheese on a flour tortilla) but they were all delicious. Definitely ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’m surprised this place isn’t busier. The service was excellent - Jessie, Ricardo, and Johnny were incredibly friendly and attentive. There’s complimentary chips along with three options for salsas. We got the sampler (Capital Pack) and the suadero was by far the best, although usually our favorites are al pastor and sirloin. I’d say their corn tortillas are also a weak point - they didn’t seem fresh and were a little chewy and lacked flavor. The churro dessert however was unexpectedly delicious! Not our absolute favorite tacos in town, but we would go back for the service.

Tortillas were not of the quality one expects in San Antonio—far from it. I ordered the six-pack, and each taco came wrapped in a 5-inch tortilla that had clearly seen better days. These weren’t the crispy, overcooked tortillas you might get at the bottom of a bad batch. No, these had that telltale day-old texture, where all the fluff and flavor had evaporated, leaving behind a flat, lifeless shell. If I had to guess, they’d been pulled straight from the refrigerator moments before a half-hearted pass on the griddle.

San Antonio is known for its incredible tortillas—warm, pillowy, and fresh off the press—but these tasted like they’d been forgotten in a back corner and reheated just enough to be passable. They didn’t crack as you might expect from an overcooked tortilla; instead, they bent under the weight of the fillings, offering none of the warmth or aroma you expect when you lift a taco to your mouth.

The fillings themselves weren’t much better. Bland, uninspired, and lacking in seasoning, they left me wondering if the kitchen had simply given up. For a place boasting 4.9 stars, the flavors were shockingly absent. Each bite left me wishing for the vibrancy and boldness that defines San Antonio’s taco scene.

To their credit, the staff was friendly and efficient, which keeps this from being a 1-star review. But no amount of good service can make up for tortillas that taste like they’ve been on a long, sad journey from fridge to plate. If you’re looking for tacos that do San Antonio justice, this isn’t the place. Taco Capital doesn’t live up to its name—or its ratings.

The fillings were equally underwhelming—bland and lacking the authentic flavors you’d hope for. Each bite was a disappointment. The staff was friendly, which is why this isn’t a 1-star review, but unfortunately, good service can’t make up for bad food.

If you’re looking for great tacos in San Antonio, there are far better options. I won’t...

Excellent food. Most of these type of taco places for the price uses low quality ingredients to increase their margins. Not this place! Really high quality for the price the ribeye asada tacos are excellent for 3 bucks you can’t beat it.

The food comes with chips and 3 choices of delicious salsas with varying degrees of spiciness.

The food is prepared right in front of you and is extremely fresh.

The service is also excellent.

I very rarely leave reviews but this place is just so damn good and it never seems to be crowded I assume just because not many people know about this gem yet so I figured I’d take the time to try to get the word out there. And judging by the other reviews they have (30 nothing but 5 star reviews) I can see I’m not the only one who thinks so highly of this place.

We just recently started eating here but we will most definitely be regulars from...

I’m still here needing a moment to let my stomach settle before leaving. I stuffed myself haha.

The food here is so good that I will definitely come back or order from DoorDash. The atmosphere is chill and clean, and it's a nice find that I almost missed because the place next door was closed.

The chips were freshly cooked and tasted great with lime, salt, and the salsas. The star of the meal were the Suadero Tacos with grilled onions on corn tortillas. The brisket melted in my mouth with each bite and was so delicious. They were very filling, and even though I could have taken the second taco home, I chose to enjoy being happily stuffed here instead.

This place gets a 10/10 from me, and I rarely leave reviews, whether...
