Decent food and good, endless coffee. Great spot to get a bite and do a little studying if it's not the last hour. The music in the kitchen was loud enough to compete with the dining area music, even in the far corner. Last hour they are open they are very busy with closing activities, clatter and scraping sounds. The quiche Lorraine was liquidly inside and with a too- well done crust - it's only saving grace was the side salad, which was outstanding. Still a little pricy for $16. I don't know that it tastes like a $20 meal. May or may not be back for another try.

I had the avocado toast and it was delicious. I loved the pickled lentils on it. There was a slight spice heat that just made the flavor pop more than you would expect. The restaurant is extremely clean. The staff is friendly and seems to work well together, keeping everything picked up and spotless. I also had some macaroons, my favorite cookie and these were the best I have ever tried, my favorite, the blueberry lavender, amazing and a must try. The portion size was small, in my opinion, to the price but the flavor made it worth every penny.

A delicious surprise... I was thrilled to see the Lorraine's standards of service and quality of food have transported perfectly to the new Medical Center location. I enjoyed a marvelous triple espresso... made with Merit espresso beans, which are full bodied and bright... We thoroughly enjoyed the cheese and peanut butter macaroon - yes, it taste like a cheese and peanut butter sandwich cracker. The staff was friendly and helpful... I appreciated them clarifying I wanted a triple espresso and not an Americano. I like my coffee strong. Cheers!

Both their Pearl and Medical Center locations are typically good but my last visit to their Med Center location was disappointing for a few reasons.

They removed one of their few vegetarian options, a really delicious quiche served with fried potatoes, from their menu! When many other restaurants are coming up with vegetarian options, this one takes a step backwards. My heart broke because usually during breakfast here I feel torn on what to order... and also super happy that I actually have options at a restaurant to deliberate over!

The grilled cheese I ordered was awful. I know there's only so many ways to mess up a grilled cheese but the cheese wasn't even melted... it was just a slice of cold cheese on overly toasted bread. It made paying the $8 for it almost unbearable.

Cappuccino machine was broken so I couldn't even order a latte. I feel like this could have been a chance to not charge for the plain coffee I ordered (it was the only coffee option they had available) as a way to make things better but nope. The girl at the register was also quite rude about informing us that it was broken. I get that not everything can go right in a kitchen but this is a bakery and coffeeshop, the latte is part of enjoying it here!

Like I said before, their food is typically enjoyable and enjoyable enough to merit the priciness of it (their avocado toast is GREAT) but not this time. I was trying to show this place off to friends and instead it came off as completely underwhelming and I felt embarassed to make...

I have never had any issues with this location prior, however, today they definitely missed the mark.

I placed a delivery order at 10:15. I received the confirmation email, but no order status updates.

I called the store to check on my order status at 11:00 as I had heard absolutely nothing, only to be told it was a new system that does not alert the employees that an order has come in. I was told my order had been sitting there since 10:15 but not been manually “accepted” so it had not even been started. They only checked and started my order because I called after 45 min.

I have works food service for years so I know that system changes do not always go according to plan, but if the system does not tell you an order has come in, then management needs to be training their employees to periodically CHECK for orders. Especially after being told this happens “all the time” with the new touch bistro system.

Food finally delivered at 11:45, an hour and a half after I placed the order, and I have a missing sandwich.

Nobody is answering the phone, mailbox cannot accept any messages at this time.

Edit: Called from a google voice number and they finally decided answer the phone. Asked for a refund on my missing item and was told I’d have to go through...

Goodness gracious. This place is amazing!!! Every single item on the menu (that we've tried) is uniquely excellent in its field. If it's a quiche, it's one of the best quiches we've had. If it's a croissant, a turkey sandwich, a dessert... all some of the top we've had! No filler menu items here.

But best of all is the service. My wife and I found this place when we were emotionally ragged from just having our baby in the NICU, half a mile away at Methodist Children's Hospital. It's been 2 1/2 months caring for our son here still, and we've come to associate Bakery Lorraine with a feeling of "home" in an otherwise foreign experience. Every time we've come into the shop, the gals ask how our baby is doing, and offer the sweetest encouragements and smiles to go along with the sweet treats. And all of it is authentic, and not tied to any business they get. The staff genuinely seem to care about the people coming through their doors, and take ownership of the space.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Truly a gem to be treasured in the food service industry, as well as in the business of people...
