It's a farmer's market but the fruit is always tough. The shelves are poorly stocked for prepared items. The wait is far too long in the deli for any service. The food is placed in containers with lids that don't snap shut so all my food spilled and stained my belongings. After waiting several minutes to be acknowledged, the coffee was cold once served. The microwave hums but omits no heat or cooking for several minutes when I try to heat food or coffee. An employee implied this was all on my mind though I have seen several customers struggle with it. My favorite wine increased a dollar at a time until now it is $5 more then anyone else charges. I was treated as a joke when I stated that the shrimp was too strong for the third time that I bought it. (It was scoffed that my a "lifestyle" must be to blame.) I think it sits out too long without being purchased. A short and stout red headed woman with glasses who is a lead cashier has an uncontrollable obsession with me and compulsively makes comments within ear shot criticizing the wine I buy, how much I may drink, how I dress just to name a few. She gossips to the other employees about me. One of them Carrie, has had plenty to say and even marched up to 'correct' the employees in the deli who were being nice to me and saying nice things. Dining here is unpleasurable as they allow a schizophrenic and loud woman to sit there all day who even talks about me and how I look to the voices in her head while I'm trying to eat in peace. I've come here since April 2019 when they opened. Gone are the days when they tried to appeal to me as a customer. Now I just get arguments and helplessness even from the manager. But hey, it's San Luis Obispo. One can do anything including prejudice as long as they're polite.
I have enjoyed the flavorful food and selection of essential oils. A blonde employee woman in glasses insinuatingly asked if she could a "help" me "find something" two times about vitamins and a mumbled comment followed that despite my drinking I do look younger. She gives me a critical look up and down whenever...
Read moreA much larger selection of Organic food than Trader Joe's, but not sure if prices are better. This Market combines elements from a regular grocery store like Vons with a Deli, Restaurant, salad bar, olive bar, coffee shop, meat department and other elements pertaining to Organic Food Store. They do sell bulk spices by the ounce which is unique as well as fresh Honey and Olive Oil Stations. They also sell fresh smoothies and Kombucha. They can make you a fresh cold cut or hot sandwich for about $3.99 - not bad at all considering the size of the sandwich . I found Organic Cereal for only $1.99! Over all the prices here are much better than the overpriced California Fresh in San Luis Obispo, and in which case I think it is only a matter of time before this store becomes the most popular store with College Students. Their hot food selection is larger and better quality than California Fresh and their staff seemed to be more friendly and...
Read moreIf you want a middle of the road between Ralph's & WF, then this is it. For certain select items, like all kinds of Pork, including lean ground pork, they have a good selection. The creamer & liquid dairy section is quite extensive. The Seafood is OK with lots of "bargain" farmed or defrosted, but is generally fresh. The meat section actually has better sausages than WF. The food bar is more like a typical supermarket & they mostly have standard Boar's head. The vege & fruit section is quite fresh and is extensive. Overall, it is a mixed bag here. The prices range from fair to kind of crazy, but one can find some deals that are far better than WF. The pies here are more plentiful than WF. The vitamins are way overpriced. The precooked foods are generally a good deal. Some of the Cheeses cost more here than at WF. All in all, it is a great place to shop and we come here quite often. The service is good and many of the staff...
