This place is definitely it for nails. The ambiance is quiet and yet stylish and quite relaxing. This was my first time coming here because its across from Under the Cork. Louis was my tech and did a fantastic job with my shape. Its a must try if you want your nails to look fab.
UPDATE I went back today and I am truly disappointed because for the last two times, there have been techs spending more time on their phones than doing the services that you are getting in the salon. The first time it was a young man who made calls and texted the entire time he worked on my nails.
Today, which is 9/24/2022, and there was young woman with a red tshirt who did my toes that stayed on her phone the entire time. She stayed on the phone so much, that she left old polish on my toes and if I had not pointed it out, before she put the new gel on my toes, she would not have noticed it all. She left pink polish around the edges of my toes and when I looked at it, she was so busy on her phone, she did not even notice it. Her respone was like, "I will fix it." There would be nothing to fix if she was not on her phone.
She would left pink paint on both toes had I not said anything to her. She was also talking to people and picked it up a couple of times to answer it. Then she left her phone open and just talked to it, which meant she was fully distracted from doing my pedicure. You could clearly see full pink lines with polish on my toes after she had soaked them and so-called buffed them. While I am not sure if the woman in the tree green dress was a manager today, she should have been more cognizant about what her techs were doing. In fact, she walked over and took the gel selection from me to give to another customer and the young woman in the red tshirt was reading texts on her phone.
However to be fair, Nick was fantastic with my nails and they are exactly how I wanted them to be so it is not a reflection him but the young woman needed to stay on her on phone during my service was unprofessional and if that was more important than giving me a thorough pedicure, then why even bother to do it in the first place?
Not only is this behavior annoying but disrespectful to do a customer who is expecting a professional and paying their hard earned coins for services. Either you stay off the phone when conducting a service, or do not participate in the service at all because you cannot have it both ways. If I am being charged for every service, i.e. nail shape, removing old nails, then I should recieve them with complete accuracy from your techs. If you want to be on your phones when providing a service, then I should only pay for the service I get when...
Read moreI wanted to try a new nail place so I decided to try this spot. I had my friend set an appointment for me. When I realized 30 minutes prior I called them to ask if I could book for a later time. (Btw I've never had fake nails before and I wanted to know what dip powder was like). They rebooked my appointment for the later time and I received a text about my appointment for 3pm. I started to wonder if they booked my appointment the first time because I initially I didn't receive a text. So I walked in at 3. Said hello and that I had an appointment for 3. She said ok she would be with me in a moment and she was checking out another woman. No biggie, I sat down in one of the chairs by the door(waiting area). I sat until 3:21. She walked over and asked me if I was checking in or out? Did she not remember that I just walked in and that I had an appointment? No biggie, I told her I was checking in I had an appointment at 3. She said ok and guides me to a chair where they would do my nails. No one has come over to me yet. It is now 3:30. From my view it looks like there only about 6 nail techs working on someone. There are currently about 4 of us (customers) waiting at our designated areas (a pedicure seat or a manicure seat) to be worked on. A guy rolled over his cart of tools at 3:58 and introduced himself and asked what I wanted. He asked me what color and if I wanted tips etc. I had done my proud little research so I could tell them what I wanted a little better âşď¸ once he started putting the tips on he was having trouble making them stick. He said he was using a brand new box of tips and they weren't sticking onto my nail properly. That's ok. I'm just glad he let me know instead of playing it off. He asked if he could switch clients with another technician. The new technician had a different box of tips that he used and proceeded to do my nails. I was amazed by the processđ He was funny while doing my nails as well which really helped lighten me up. The end result was gorgeous! Thank you so much Steven! The wait time was long but they managed it well, the establishment looks clean and I like the results â¤ď¸ I will come back and try a different service before committing to them, but I think I might have found "my spot" to get...
Read moreItâs unfortunate, because I just wrote a positive review two days ago, but I need to amend it.
I have been to Haute Spot 4 or 5 times now, and each time I have been left disappointed. I always try to support small businesses, and I understand that finding the right nail tech can be a process, so I kept coming back in the hopes that it would work out. I have friends who come here, the people are polite and the facilities are beautiful, but unfortunately I canât waste any more money here.
Iâve dealt with painful, damaged/cut cuticles, designs that are completely different than what I asked for, excess glue left under my nails, upturned nails, lifting within a week of getting a new set, and most recently- the top coat of my brand new set peeling off less than 12 hours after getting them.
Iâm sad, because I had finally found a tech here who I thought would be good for me. Yes, my nails were upturned again, but I understand that my nail beds are small. Yes, there was some excess glue left underneath, but not as much as last time. I absolutely loved the shape and the design, and had no complaints. I work as a bartender, so my hands are always on display, and itâs important to me that my nails look good.
Kayla got me in this morning to get them fixed, but they donât look anywhere near as good as they did the first time around. The design isnât as uniform or pretty, there are bubbles under the clear coat, the shape is different now from all the filing, theyâre too thick from all the new coats of polish, and you can see marks on the nail from where it was buffed/ where the old top coat wasnât fully removed.
I feel so frustrated with my experience here, and I want to cry looking at my nails right now, knowing Iâve wasted $120 and feeling embarrassed that all my guests and friends will see these for the next 3 weeks.
The redeeming quality is that there are a few techs here who give great pedicures. I would recommend Jason for a gel pedicure. He is very pleasant, thorough, and patient, and gives good massages.
I will not be returning.
Update: My ârepairâ from 3 hours ago is already...
