I recently had the pleasure of using Santa Barbara Sailing Center for an engagement photoshoot, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The crew was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and wonderful to work with. They really went above and beyond to make our experience special and memorable. The boat itself was absolutely fantastic. It was well-maintained and clean, and had all the amenities we needed for our photo shoot. The views from the boat were stunning, and provided the perfect backdrop for engagement photos. Throughout the photo shoot, the crew was incredibly helpful and accommodating. They made sure that we had everything we needed, and even suggested some great photo opportunities that we hadn't thought of and even turned the boat specific directions for us to get the best views and lighting. They truly made our experience enjoyable and stress-free. Overall, I can't recommend Santa Barbara Sailing Center enough for engagement photos or any other special occasion. The crew is amazing, the boat is fantastic, and the experience is truly one-of-a-kind. If you're looking for a fun and memorable way to capture your special moments, this is definitely the way to go. It's a five-star experience all the way!

We reserved the 36’ Marina sailboat through SBSC for my parents’ memorial at sea. This was the best decision ever! It was an easy sign-in the day we arrived. We met Captain Christopher, were escorted on board, explained all of the safety details and motored out of the beautiful Santa Barbara harbor. It was our choice to sail wherever we liked for the next 2 hours. We chose to head out and over to the SB Cemetery along the cliffs, and of course well out to sea for our ash scattering. It was a beautiful day, a beautiful sail and Christopher was a very professional captain, making us all feel very comfortable. The sailboat itself was extremely comfortable and we highly recommend this Sailing Center for your future sailing needs.

Our experience on the public sunset cruise was unparalleled— the staff and the boat were exceptional, as was the scenery. The boat for public cruises is a large catamaran which has over water hammocks, deck seating, and a bar area, and had blankets available for cold weather. The bar had both wine and beer as well as non alcoholic drinks (given we went in December we were glad they had hot chocolate!) The staff, Madeline and Johnny, were extremely kind and thorough, and also didn’t mind me pestering them with questions about Santa Barbara! The cruise was lovely and had amazing views of the sunset. For a public cruise at this value, I would highly recommend booking with them.

Took time off from work for a whale watching trip. Bought tickets ahead of time online. We showed up 30 minutes before the sailing time and got our tickets at the reception desk, where we were told boarding would start in 15 minutes. We waited on the dock, noticing that we may possibly be the only passengers on the trip. 30 minutes later at the sailing time we started to wonder what was going on. No one was preparing for the trip. One crew member was standing around on the boat. Anytime someone from the company walked by they would say "just a moment and we'll be leaving". 20 minutes after the sail time the girl at reception walks behind one of the buildings where the crew was slowly disappearing to and then come back to tell us that there is a problem with the boat and they will have to cancel. We had been there for an HOUR, no mention of issues or the possibility of canceling. No one was working on the boat AT ALL. Just standing around. It became very apparent they had no desire to sail for only two people. Completely ridiculous. At least have the guts to be honest and not send the reception people to do your dirty work for you. I will never use this company again. EXTREMELY disappointing as a...

long overdue review for the SBSC. I joined their membership a few months ago and decided to take their 101 Basic Sailing Course. The instructor was awesome and the staff were always very accommodating to our needs. After completing my courses I took out a J24 with a nephew and a few of his friends. Everything went well until we started back into the Harbor. Big mistake taking young kids sailing without first acclimating them to the boat. Plus, the SB Yacht Club was right in the middle of their mid week Regatta. We had some issues coming back in due to the excessive wakes from all the boats heading out into the harbor. The staff came to our rescue and took care of all the "issues" that came up...not going to elaborate but lets just say it was an accident. The owner took care of everything and acted very professionally considering all the issues. Congrats to the owner for taking the high road vs what could have been a unfortunate situation. The 101 instructor JASON...
