Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center — Attraction in Sarasota

Fogartyville sets the stage for magical experiences with music and sounds. They are called a ‘ listening room’ which describes their goal of providing outstanding musical experiences. The new set up gives all seats great views and proximity to the performers. The sound engineer worked diligently with the musicians to create an incredible evening. One side of the venue has 2 large garage doors which open up to an outdoor courtyard which has more tables. Enchanting strands of lights twinkle at the end of the courtyard.

Fogartyville serves beverages and snacks, including alcohol. I don’t drink, so I don’t know the menu for those beverages, but our sparkling water was top shelf!

Covid safety precautions were in place and not intrusive. We wore masks when moving around which could be taken off when seated at our tables. Tables had been carefully spaced with ample distance between. High ceilings and open air provided by the large open doors to the courtyard gave ample ventilation. Unlike many music venues, bathrooms were consistently immaculate.

Many of the servers are volunteers who support the Fogartyville mission and enjoy the live music. They were delightful

I am writing to express my serious concern regarding Fogartyville Community Media and Art Center’s decision to feature performer Matt Ragas as host of its upcoming Christmas event. Publicly available material connected to this individual raises extremely troubling ethical and reputational issues, including inappropriate and deeply concerning content. I have contacted Fogartyville directly to bring these matters to their attention but have received no response. The lack of acknowledgment or transparency from the organization is alarming and undermines community trust. I strongly urge Fogartyville’s leadership to address this issue immediately, review their association with this performer, and take swift, responsible action to uphold the values and standards that the community expects from such a respected...

Top-notch live music in a space with great acoustics. The music includes singer-songwriters, americana, folk-rock, jazz, jam bands and world music. The person who handles the bookings has great taste in music, so even if a particular genre isn't normally your favorite genre, the musicians they get within that genre are very appealing to regular people. The people there are positive and friendly. The room has great acoustics. People are quiet while the music plays so you can really take in the music. My favorite venue in Florida for seeing live music. It only holds about 110 people so all the seats are fairly close to the stage.
