Haitian Monument — Attraction in Savannah

There are a whole lot of statues in Savannah, and i like to think i saw most of them. This one in particular was the first piece of artwork I've seen that actually made me think "This is alive, the history here is real". Just an amazing experience.

Being Haitian, I was excited to come here while visiting. Only thing is I was by myself as a young lady and there were some really sketchy characters surrounding the square that it's located in. It was getting dark the first day I attempted but I decided it was best to come back earlier the next day. It was still surrounded by sketchy folks but I wasn't leaving without seeing it so I just went in. No one bothered me though but just keep in mind if your traveling...
