Spent 3 nights here for a short family vacation. I think I would stay elsewhere if I ever visit Savannah again, but the people who work here make up for the property’s short comings. First of all, valet parking is all but mandatory and it’s $45 a day. I assumed there would be a reasonable amount of parking nearby, and maybe it’s a Savannah-wide issue, but there really isn’t. The attendants were very helpful and responsive. I liked the link system they use. The room wasn’t the cleanest. It wasn’t horrible, but there should be a bit more attention to detail. I let stuff like that go usually, but it can be indicative of hidden issues elsewhere. 6/10 on the cleanliness. I originally got a follow up email just before the stay that said the pool would be closed until 9/30/24, but it was open through at least Labor Day (although a child pooped in it our final night and shut it down for the remainder of the day). I almost cancelled due to the email since the kids were looking forward to the pool. Bit of a mixed message there. The front desk employees were very helpful and made my stay as easy as possible. The location is great. It’s a 5 minute walk from river street and another 5-10 min walk to some great restaurants downtown. My wife did mention that gaggles of loud drunks walking back from River street woke her up each night at 2-3 am, though I slept through it, so keep that in mind location-wise. I didn’t try the breakfast. For $15.95, go to a restaurant downtown. At least they will make the food for you. Finally, what’s the deal with single ply toilet paper? Is decent TP really that expensive? I’m gonna start bringing my own, for real. The “Dove” products in the bathroom are not Dove. The bottles are filled with something barely resembling soap. See photo for view from the 5th floor room.

There comes a time in the lives of every man and woman where they need to make a decision that determines their character. For example, you are a lovely young woman named Mrs. O and you had two people in front of you that were 6 feet tall and you saw that their room had a queen size bed you might ask yourself. “Should I stuff these people in this room or should I see if I can get them something better?”. Or perhaps your name was Zack and you were a general manager of the hotel and you found yourself face to face with an intoxicated guest, wanting desperately to sleep it off with a late checkout. You could dismiss this young man or you could grant him the peace that he so desperately needed to continue to go on the following day by offering a late checkout. Maybe your name is Troy and you’re getting ready to pack your bar up for the night. You too, have a choice. Tell these stragglers to hit the bricks or offer them libations, even if it means extending your own time. Perhaps even you call yourself Victoria (clearly named after royalty) and you answer some strange phone call at midnight and the voice on the other end asks an odd questions. “Do you know your bartenders nickname” the voice asks. You could say this isn’t part of your job not even something you would know or you could sit back think and answer “puddin”. These are not merely parables of a time, long gone by, but rather explain situations that occurred at this very hotel. The names have not been changed to protect the innocent. Because these folks are made of the kind of cloth that everyone should wear. Everyone at the historic district Holiday Inn made our stay spectacular. My only hope is that we touched the lives of the folks that touched ours in a similar fashion. Thank you. And May God Bless Savannah

Literally the worst hotel experience I have ever had. 1) They have one luggage rack for hundreds of rooms, so checking in involved three trips up to the fifth floor. 2) AC in our room was broken. Bell boy that came up when we called and complained just shrugged, laughed and said there was no maintenence staff on premises. Offered a free breakfast instead. We had to demand a new room. 3) Internet was completely down for the whole morning. Made me miss a meeting. 4) Both rooms were disgustingly dirty, with many things broken 5) Gym is a total joke. 4 people max occupancy. Tiny. Why bother? 6) breakfast was $16.95 and there was LITERALLY NO FOOD OR PLATES OR COFFEE CUPS. 7) Manager was supposed to contact us about this horrible stay, but never did. No manager or maintenence staff on site or working, apparently. This place is an absolute nightmare. We're done with IHG. UPDATE: The response to this review is entirely false, no voicemails, messages or emails were sent. I have verified nothing caught by spam filters. No effort to remedy beyond this "response" on Google maps. Avoid these frauds at all cost. Another update: this place is garbage.

Overall, I was very disappointed with this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and booked a king bed suite. My party included myself and my spouse along with our 16 month old baby.

When we first arrived, the valet was overwhelmed and had us park across the street where we had to unload an entire car full of things for a baby. The valet was very nice, but it appeared to be one guy handling a lot of customers himself. He did not give us any sort of ticket, but stated we would get a text message with information about how to retrieve our vehicle. I never got this message. I checked with him multiple times over the next few hours to make sure he had our information correct. About 3 hours after checking in, we got a message about tipping our valet, but never got anything on how to get our car.

At the end of our trip when we wanted to get our car, a different valet was there and gave us a very hard time about why we didn't use the link that we were supposed to get via text. But don't worry, he managed to send us a link on how to tip him too. For some reason that link worked just fine. Considering valet was $45/night and there was no self parking option, it was a little bit of a frustrating experience.

When we got to the room, it felt very dirty and in a state of disrepair. The floor at the entrance to the room (#211) was torn up and there was some sort of wood "repair" on the floor. There was mold all over the ceiling of the bathroom. The floor was so dirty that within 5 minutes my baby's knees were black with dirt and grime.

We went to dinner and breakfast each day. The bartender who helped us at dinner and "Anaya / Lady A" at breakfast were both wonderful. There was another woman who handled breakfast on Sunday/Monday who seemed very busy video chatting on her phone and I had to seek her out to check in for breakfast (which I paid for in advance). Many tables were dirty and the chairs were covered in stains and kind of gross.

The only high chair available in the place was in disrepair and had broken straps. We had to tie the straps in a knot and heavily monitor our baby to make sure she was safe during meals.

On the second day of our trip no one cleaned our room, despite us being out of the room for several hours in both the morning and afternoon. During the day we were only there for our baby's 2 hour mid-day nap. The cleaning staff was oddly working on the room directly next to ours BOTH times we left the room, so she clearly could see we were leaving and removing the occupied sign from the door, but no effort was made to clean the room.

The hand soap in the bathroom was empty. Despite my reservation having 3 people on it, only 2 towels were in the room. The phone didn't seem to work, so we had to go downstairs and get additional towels.

I try to stay exclusively at Holiday Inn hotels when available, and this is by far the worst location I've ever stayed at. I would NOT recommend it to anyone. While some of the staff was nice, the only other pro to this hotel is the convenient location downtown in the historic district. Otherwise, this hotel felt gross, massively overpriced with the $45/day valet, and in a state of disrepair that the company should...

This hotel seems a lot more than it is. The price per night is mainly based on location because it is very downtown Savannah. I do find it to be overpriced for the overall quality of the hotel. One thing to know is that there is no free on-site parking. It is $45 for a valet underground parking, and they will charge extra if you don't get your car by a certain time in the morning. The other option would be to park in the lot directly next to the building, which costs $35 for the night. The final option is the only free option, which is to read the street signs and get street parking in a place that you won't get towed. We managed to find street parking, but it was certainly not an easy task. As for the hotel itself, the main lobby is the only nice part of the building. Once you go up the elevator to your rooms, it's looks like a rundown apartment complex in downtown Denver (if you get my gist). Paint is peeling, chipping, carpets have stains, and overall, just not maintained. The rooms themselves are very small compared to other holiday inns, the bed is stiff and the drawers are dirty inside, the drawer handles look like they haven't been cleaned in a month, and the shower looks like it came from the 90s. During the night, it is difficult to sleep due to people yelling and loud exhaust vehicles driving around (this noise went on until midnight to 1 am). They charge $16 dollars for breakfast even though I am a holiday inn rewards member. We ended up finding a local joint for breakfast instead. The shop overcharged for water or any other items they sell. There are many homeless people who wander around the hotel, especially at night. We went to the lobby around midnight, and a lady who was very drunk wandered into the lobby begging for food and drinks. The one good thing about this hotel is that it is walking distance from the river front but is a couple of blocks away from any shops that you may be interested in. I initially planned to stay at this hotel for 2 nights, but after checking in and seeing the room, I decided to cancel my second night and go stay at another holiday inn just slightly out of town. The rate was way better, and the hotel was overall better than this one. If you are looking to visit Savannah, I would recommend staying at a hotel just outside of town and driving in for any sightseeing you want to do. The rates and quality are better out of town, and the price you would pay to park daily would be either free(for street parking) or less than 15 bucks for the...

This planned trip was intended to be a first time romantic Savanna experience for my wife’s Birthday and our first Savanna trip together…Very Disappointing experience… NOT The City or sites! Or dining experiences at all… incredible and beautiful!! The hotel was the 100% disappointing part from the moment we arrived…”RED FLAG” #1 No luggage bell cart?? Told it was stolen? #2 The room had no view as promised when booked and was the size of a small dorm room. #3 The hotel is very long in the tooth ( dated ) and just feels dirty and unclean. #4 Other than 1 person at the desk who was helpful with extra linen, the desk was creepy and very much unmanaged, until someone in back saw you on a ceiling camera ( CREEPY) out front and would pop out to ask what you needed?? #5 Upon checking out 4 days later ( our mistake) my travel tote was left behind not noticed until 2 hours later when unpacking back home. I immediately called and got bounced around person to person until the head of housekeeping I think Kendal? found it… I was then informed mildly surprised but understood the return of this item would be at my expense but could be forwarded to me once they received the packaging again on my dime… 1 week later to my surprise..,not SINGLE call back from anyone to date after leaving numerous messages for Ginger and the Assistant who were always off or unavailable, the package arrives at our home the individual compartments had been gone through and everything relocated into the lower large zipper pouch. Everything accounted for except my expensive Armani cologne??? At this point I get IHG very much involved hoping for some kind of help?? But after lots of lip service and multiple lengthy investigation calls they basically through the horrible hotel that we are in someway LYING!! OH NO!! We are both long time IHG members at least 15 years? and this location was selected for great proximity to all the great walking distance sights and included a parking a package. Which was a joke when you investigate the price per night and accommodation it’s not worth it at all!!! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Savannah is an incredible city but there are numerous better choices to stay in the same area…. First time mistake on my part?? THEY ARE THIEVES AT THE Holiday INN Historic District!!! Hello Bonvoy...
