Andaz Savannah, a concept hotel that was almost perfect! This hotel is GREAT, the moment we walked in - the smell/scent of the hotel immediately invites us in and says WELCOME HOME!! We stayed on the 5th floor in the Andaz Deluxe Loft with a view of Ellis Square, with a balcony (which the balcony was the draw for us). It was our 27th Wedding Anniversary and 2nd time in Savannah. The room was great, the decor, the sheets were soft, staff was FANTASTIC!!!!! (Ebony and Aja thank you guys for your hospitality, great customer service, and great attitude you guys need a RAISE immediately!!!) They left chocolate-covered strawberries in our room and surprised us - such a great touch!!! Our robes and slippers were a nice touch also (we had to request them but, they were complimentary for our stay while there).
I can't say enough about the scent in the hotel, it was GREAT and it made leaving and returning each time wonderful. The complimentary drinks daily were GREAT (peach Sangria was very refreshing, champagne was a no for me-just tasted off)
Now, for the few things, the hotel can improve upon which is why I said almost perfect in the beginning. The #1 thing Andaz Savannah needs to do is hire a new chef for the restaurant (22 Square Restaurant) downstairs. We went down for breakfast one morning and the food was trash!! (there's no other way to say it). We ordered very simple food, sausage, bacon, toast, scrambled eggs, grits - you can't really mess it up but I don't know what we were bought, but it wasn't edible. The manager on duty knew it wasn't right away and rectified the situation by not charging us (essentially taking it off our room bill). Andaz, you have the perfect location, so hire the perfect chef to add to the ambiance of the hotel so your guests will spend their money in your restaurant!
Also, your valet guy was great but the space to pull up and unload or load your vehicle could be better, how I don't know since it sits on a major street but it is what it is.
The #2 thing is the parking. Make it clearer for your guests to understand PLEASE. The price of parking is $32-$34/day........MY GOODNESS, it was almost the reason why we didn't book with you guys but glad we changed our mind. We parked our vehicle ourselves (which I highly recommend if you value your vehicle) and we walked everywhere, we never moved our vehicle again until we checked out. By doing this, we were only charged for one night. I highly recommend you walk everywhere and leave your vehicle parked in their garage. Now, the garage itself is VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND AND LOCATE. The Andaz sits in the heart of the city so there are several parking garages but not all of them connect to the hotel. So, before you go park your vehicle, ask the valet or front desk staff which parking garage to park in. (unload your luggage first though) I wish I could remember which one we parked in but can't. It connected to the hotel somehow where when we came up the elevator we walked through 2 doors and were immediately in the hotel.
A lot of people complain about the a/c loud unit on the balcony, which it is loud and can get warm but it's doable. Just don't sit out there in the heat of the day. Our stay was in August and it was fine for us. Sidebar - a great restaurant to go to is a Jazz restaurant called Good Times Jazz Bar & Restaurant. FANTASTIC soul food and atmosphere (just make a reservation to sit downstairs) the live band & singing were great also!!! Made our stay WONDERFUL. (there was another couple there also celebrating their Anniversary) Savannah is a great city for a couple's getaway or a family vacation. We have already booked...
Read moreFound a great deal on Priceline for Veterans Day Weekend. Easy to find. Were able to pull right up for Valet. Found out they do not have a self park garage. "Self parking" is hope you find available space parking garage nearby. Valet was friendly and attentive, answering our questions about parking. Champagne greeting upon arrival and our room was available for check in a few hours early. Room was clean and the air conditioning worked. Mini fridge had complimentary Bottled Water, OJ, Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite. There was also local beer, wine and Red Bull available in the fridge for a charge as well as mini bottles Woodford Reserve Bourbon, 1800 Tequila and CÎROC Vodka. Also had a Keurig machine with Breakfast blend, French Vanilla, and decaf Dark Roast coffee as well as green and black tea. They also had slippers and robes to give it the extra at home feel. The lights in the bathroom were motion sensor and the beds also had under lighting that was also motion sensored and convenient when moving around in an unfamiliar room in the dark in the middle of the night. I only wish there were additional hooks or bars in the bathroom to hang the used towels. Be sure to take advantage of the services included in the destination fee. Enjoyed our free appitizers and beverages at the lobby bar between 5-8. While we did not come prepared to use the pool, the pool deck was very nice and guests were roasting marshmallows for smores around the firepit. Unfortunately the Savannah for Morons Tour offered by Old Town Trolly was not one of the discounted tours at the concierge desk, there were other tours that had discounts and there were other coupons and maps as well. The fitness room had enough equipment to meet a wide variety of needs. We used one treadmill and an elliptical but there was someone else using a Pelton bike and another person using a yoga mat and free weights and yet another person on the other elliptical. No one was too crowded and there was still room for more. Gym towels were available and a water dispenser to fill your water bottle. Everything was very clean and organized. Everyone were interacted with a friendly and helpful, from valet to front desk, cleaning staff, concierge and the bartenders. We realized a toothbrush was left at home and were able to get a complimentary toothbrush from the front desk that came with the tiniest tube of toothpaste. I would definitely consider staying here again, I have always enjoyed my stays at...

We stayed here during the 4th of July weekend and we were sadly disappointed. We wanted to give them a try since we always stay at a five star hotel and figured they (Andaz) has great reviews, let's break from the norm. This hotel was a HUGE disappointment. Let's dive into our experience.
Room Cleanliness: ZERO (0)
Upon arrival we asked for clean sheets as the sheets on our bed were dirty, had stains, along with hair. Please see the attached photos as exhibit A. We had to wait four (4) hours for sheets to be delivered to our room! After driving for over three (3) hours we were exhausted and couldn't relax after our showers due to the bed being dirty. (The cost was over $300 per night). FYI...we were going to check out the next day, but our usual hotel was booked.
Secondly, the bathroom shower! OMG!!! The shower had mold inside it, please see the attached photos exhibit B. Thank goodness I brought the cleaning supplies up from our vehicle. I bleach the shower. Shower head full of calcium. My goodness!
Lastly, the toilet!!!! OMG!!! Do they even clean the inside rims!! It was filthy!! I Clorox bleach/cleaned that as well! Please see attached photo exhibit C.
Room Experience:
We were given a room along the busy streets of the front part of the hotel, couldn't enjoy the mini balcony due to the loud noise and ongoing traffic.
Customer Service:
Customer service and location was good, but not good enough to make us want to return.
Overall Experience:
1 out of 5 due the uncleanliness of the room, the room location, and price that was charged. If we're paying over $300 a night, we don't expect $40 a night service. We will not...
