Civic Center Library was one I stumbled upon on a trolley ride. I got off to check it out and was stunned by what I saw.
Upon entrance of the library grounds I was immediately caught by the beautiful park that greeted me when I walked up the stairs. It was a Sunday afternoon and it was only a handful of people there. I forgot about going inside and spent the time exploring the library grounds.
What beauty! What amazing sight to see! There were three differently designed water fountains with amazing sculptures in them and also floating within the water were beautiful ducks enjoying their sun bath. Also around the grounds were gardens that are well manicured for the eyes indeed! There is also plenty of chairs to sit on and little pathways to walk on for romantics and nature lovers alike. And though there was only one craft for kids to play on, it is still kid friendly because there is a vast space for kids to simply run around around.
I almost forgot to enter the library, considering my intrigue with the park outside, but when I did I was in for an amazing display of my favorite thing on the planet; Books! There was so many books there and I was surprised to find that they held almost ALL the books of my favorite author Karen Kingsbury! The librarians were very friendly, courteous, and inviting. All was left out was the english tea display, for the atmosphere made me feel like I visited an old friend. :-)
Finally, upon getting my book, I realized there was plenty of places for me to sit and indulge in my book. The chairs were comfortable and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. I loved it!
The only reason I gave 4 stars was for the lack of good internet. At a time like this I expect great internet service from libraries and I never had issues before at any library. I frequent libraries a lot, and both times I came to Civic Center Library, I never got connected to the internet and the librarians had no good explanation for me.
Overall, I have had a great experience visiting this library and I encourage you to...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for over a decade, and it’s always been a reliable, clean, and knowledge-rich place to visit. The entrance is striking, featuring a large golden feather on display, and there’s a convenient, expansive parking garage nearby.
Inside, the library opens into a spacious, well-organized area with clearly designated sections for books, along with dedicated spaces for children, teens, and quiet work or study rooms—perfect for students or remote workers. The children’s area is especially charming, decorated with Legos and thoughtful details that make it inviting and fun.
While the library may not boast the largest book selection, it more than makes up for it with its thoughtful curation, timeless titles, and a warm atmosphere that never sacrifices function for aesthetics. The elegant decor adds character without getting in the way.
Overall, this library has never let me down. It’s a humble gem that continues to inspire and support...
Read moreThere’s 2 comments here that a homeless person put his arms around a lady and asked for money. I don’t believe it a bit. Another comment about a homeless person wanted to feel a woman’s hands. Still do not believer it. I’m a woman who works for Mayo hospital and I am retired and workout at Lifetime Fitness across the street from Whole food. To be honest I have never been approached by an unsheltered person. I think these 2 women are just trying to get rid of the unsheltered. You never know god can change your life around in an instant. Don’t be a liar. Be very compassionate. I drive a very expensive Tesla and have a nice home in Paradise Valley I see homeless they never ever approached me, they don’t have too I just give them food. No need to react stupid and be a liar about it. Be compassionate. Again god will change your life...
