Ideally situated in old town Scottsdale, this place has the potential to have it all. That’s the best part, and the only reason to award a one star review. This hotel is tragically past its prime and hanging on by sabotaging its guests with high rates, substandard customer service from the night staff, and inedible breakfast offerings. We are part of a large organization and have stayed twice at this location in the last two months. Our hotel stays are part of larger functions and we are not in your town for a vacation. The nature of our trips generally leave us stranded in your lobby and hotel for hours with 20+ guests. We certainly have taken liberties with some hotel policy, but try to be understanding and respectful—to a point. The room and bed were okay, though the bed is getting packed-out. The room’s woodwork varnish is flaking off of the bathroom doors and generally looks like it’s done. Satisfactory wet bar, no microwave, broken ice machines. In the morning, the coffee is flowing and a welcomed amenity. If you are a fan of MRE’s or prison food, you will enjoy the breakfast burritos made “for institutional use only” and “Inspected by the US Dept. of Agriculture in accordance with FNS requirements.” They surely taste like something and look worse. The morning staff is outstanding but not enough to salvage this place. We did our very best to not impact other hotel guests, and indeed, were never notified that we were a problem to other guests until we went to the pool for a birthday dinner with our group. At 9:00pm we were told that we were too loud and that the pool was closed, though the pool is open until 10:00pm when the sound policy is in effect. Ironically, the Paris nightclub immediately behind the hotel blasts dance music well into the night and then launches patrons into the streets at 2:00am. Go have a look at the doughnuts in the street between the club and hotel. If the music isn’t enough, the doughnuts will wake you up—for sure. After reading other reviews, it is apparent that the hotel bar—in a sea of bars and restaurants around the neighborhood—is the single most important thing to this hotel. If that’s the case, they should make it into an actual bar instead of a wing of the front desk, or just get rid of it. The bottom line: This hotel is unfriendly to groups. The tactics used by staff to disperse our group fundamentally undermine the purpose of customer service. That is, making customers mad doesn't bode well for creating...
Read moreI travel every other week for work and always stay with Hyatt Place in AZ, GA, FL, and TX. This had to be my most disappointing experience ever. At check in I was asked if I wanted my room cleaned during my stay and I said I did. No one ever came and cleaned it. When I check in at every Hyatt location I’m always asked if I want my two bottles of water I get with my Hyatt points level. No one asked me. Every other Hyatt ALWAYS made it a point to thank me for being at the level I am with points - this one said nothing. Every other Hyatt has a small shop to buy toiletries, meds, etc. This one - nothing. They all have chromcast to stream Netflix from my phone - this one doesn’t. The staff overall didn’t smile and it didn’t feel welcoming. Friendliness was non existent. Now on to the room; huge built up dust is clumped in every corner of the floor carpets. My light in the bathroom - burnt out and doesn’t work - no bathroom light at all. I mean wow. If this hotel was not in a prime location, there’s no way they would still be able to sell rooms. I personally will never return and it makes me second guess this brand altogether. After writing this I read the silly cookie cutter responses the manager replies to every negative review with and it just shows how they really don’t care. A lot of the issues I’ve had are the same ones others complained about so clearly they don’t care to fix it. What a joke. PLEASE DONT COPY AND PASTE YOUR PREWRITTEN IMPERSONAL RESPONSE TO EVERYONE TO RESPOND TO ME. I’d rather not get a reply at all. Here I’ll do it for you to save your time because no, I won’t give you a second chance. You heard these things from other guests and did nothing. Again- you will read this and do nothing.

Read moreStayed our for our anniversary in late August. We absolutely loved it here. For the price you pay vs the quality and location of the hotel you absolutely cannot beat it. Walking distance of old town, from there you have easy access to restaurants, gallery's, jewelry, retail and a quick Uber or golf cart ride you are at the mall in 6-7 minutes tops. And for those of you interested in the partying, it's just as fast and the night club Paris of Scottsdale is literally right in front of the hotel. Simon's hot dogs is also right next to the hotel it's a awesome little Shop great for a quick snack if you've been driving but don't want to go far.
The front desk is awesome also, we got checked in and given a quick run down of the property quick and easy no problem. They also have a decent food menu and drink options as well, we didn't do the breakfast but we did some of the fries and a few cocktails. Now while not terribly pricy or anything it wasn't exactly quick either. The front desk also make your drinks so they aren't bartenders don't expect a fast cocktail but none the less they where friendly and no problem answering any questions we had.
The hotel room was bigger than I had thought also, the TV looks outdated and the menu is terrible on it but it's usable and has premium movie channels. It also has some inputs for your devices so if you want to bring a adapter that connects to a HDMI you'll be all set. We got the highest floor possible facing camelback mountain. Now it isn't a crazy amazing view but it does look really nice. I did notice some people talk about the noise from the bars and clubs, at the top floor facing away from them the only place I heard them was the hall away going into my room I did not hear anything once inside my room. I would recommend asking for a room that faces towards camelback mountain as that corner of the hotel is the furthest from all the noise.
Ice machines available, although not on every floor, the general layout of the hotel and parking are both great they've got security in the rear parking lot so no need to worry.
Check our was a breeze no complaints...
