Never would recommend this restaurant. Poor quality of service. there were only four customers including me. I went at 9:15 today. The waiter's were busy watching on the TV. Nobody to welcome you and assign you the seat. Heard the waiter recommending another good restaurant after I ordered the food. Ordered three items. Garlic naan was like papad, did not eat it. Chicken curry was like it is the left over curry from yesterday. Rice was cold . They give you the food and nobody to ask if you need anything . so I get up and go inside to give me the check. she comes with the wrong amount on it. If you need water go and ask, if you need togo box go and ask for it, if you need the check go and ask for it.But still paid $22.50 because I wanted to play fair. Please do not go and waste your time and money. Did not want to give even one star, but want to publish my review hence giving the star , food is not worth...
Read moreFantastic! This restaurant is extremely good, food amazing, service is traditional and excellent. The atmosphere is spacious, quiet, and relaxing.
The food here is more than just a step up from the norm. It's a mix of down to earth authenticity without overpriced pretense, and a classic Indian restaurant environment that will be familiar to people who have dined in London.
I can't say enough about the food. It's exactly what it should be.
Tucked away in a corner of Old Town, it's rarely as crowded as it deserves to be. Accessible, very moderately priced, and one of the most personal restaurants in the city.
Eat here.
Notes: the food is not overly sugary, and items like the tandoori chicken are very easy to work with on a low carb diet. You can even dual back the sweetness...
Read moreI've been here a few times over the years and generally enjoyed everything I ate, but in my recent visits the food has been problematic. Specifically, the last times I've ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, what I ended up with was, at best, equivalent to grocery store frozen indian food. The sauce was very lacking in flavor and had more of a spaghetti sauce taste to it. I also ordered it "spicy" but there was no heat whatsoever -- not even a trace. And CTM should be made with marinated tandoori chicken breast (chicken tikka), but the pieces of chicken were completely flavorless, had no color, and had no charring. It was if they used cubes of plain boiled chicken. I really don't know what the problem is, but now I probably won't ever go back. Kind of a shame as I...
