I'm a big fan of farmers markets — in Salt Lake City, I get most of my groceries for the week in the summer at the market here. So, being in the greater Phoenix area for the weekend, I thought I'd explore one — I wasn't disappointed by Scottsdale's.
It was definitely a little cramped — everything was very close together in one square — but that also meant that you could easily go from vendor to vendor, exploring your options. There were coverings over the whole of the market, which was unexpected, but I guess you have to cope with high-80s weather in late fall somehow.
There was a nice selection of vendors, although there were only a couple that focused on the 'farmer' aspect — most of the space was dedicated to other goods. As a visitor rather than a resident, I appreciated that, but it might also change the balance of...

Curious as to why many of the vendors/markets are moving away from Double Up/WIC? Those programs are in place to help families in need. Don't you all still get paid? What difference does it make to you? Disappointing.
Also- This market should really consider moving to a better more accessible location, or at least fix the issue with parking and make it accessible to the public.
Although, the vendors are always...
