Title: Great Food and Atmosphere, Despite Unfortunate Incident
Rating: ★★★★☆
I recently had the opportunity to dine at AZ/88 in Scottsdale, AZ, and overall, it was a positive experience. The restaurant offers a delightful combination of delicious food and a pleasant ambiance, making it an ideal spot for a casual yet enjoyable evening.
Let's start with the positives. The food at AZ/88 was undeniably good. From the moment I took my first bite, it was evident that the kitchen staff takes great care in preparing their dishes. The menu boasts a variety of options to suit different palates, and each item I sampled was flavorful and satisfying. Whether you're a fan of classic American fare or looking to try something more adventurous, AZ/88 has something for everyone.
The ambiance of the restaurant is worth mentioning as well. The interior is tastefully decorated, striking a balance between modern elegance and a relaxed vibe. The lighting creates a cozy atmosphere, and the overall layout provides a sense of privacy without feeling cramped. It's an ideal setting for a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends.
However, my experience was marred by an unfortunate incident involving another diner. A nearby individual, clearly acting inappropriately, began to display aggressive behavior towards his girlfriend, attempting to forcibly remove her from the restaurant. Needless to say, this disturbance was unsettling for everyone present. However, I must commend the manager for swiftly intervening and handling the situation in a professional manner. Not only did they diffuse the conflict and ensure the safety of all patrons, but they also went above and beyond by comping our check as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused. Their quick response and appropriate action were commendable, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction and safety.
While the incident was regrettable, it is important to recognize that it was an isolated occurrence and not reflective of the restaurant's overall quality or atmosphere. AZ/88's management handled the situation admirably, showcasing their dedication to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for their guests.
In conclusion, AZ/88 is a restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience. The food is excellent, the ambiance is charming, and despite the unfortunate incident, the management proved their commitment to customer satisfaction. I would recommend giving AZ/88 a try, keeping in mind that unforeseen incidents can happen anywhere, but the staff at this establishment is prepared to handle them with...
Read moreMy husband and I went to AZ88 for a very rare date night out and are so happy we chose this place for dinner for three reasons: the manager and the food and drinks were awesome! When we arrived we were greeted by the manager and taken to a seat at the bar while we waited for a patio table to come available. My husband had the margarita and I had the Moscow mule which was amazing. It was so different, refreshing and delicious! We loved the view when we got to our table and the furniture on the patio was comfy and went well with the artistic ambiance of the Civic park. Our food was fantastic! We were both pleasantly suprised by the price of the food for the location and the quality of the food. A+! Our waitress on the other hand was so-so, she was not very attenative, kind of distant and not around much. I had to look around for someone to bring us our check after waiting awhile. So I was not pleased with her service one bit. But I will give this review 5 stars because I believe in the restaurant, the manager, the chef/cooks and the the rest of the waitstaff. As a small business owner myself, I know how important these ratings are but I have high expectations for customer service. The manager was awesome to talk to, very kind and relatable. He also surprised my husband and I with chocolate cake shots when we returned to the bar after our dinner. Once we were at the bar we ordered another round of drinks and dessert. I had the chocolate cake and my husband had the cheesecake. We were both pleased with our meals, drinks and dessert. We would love to return again and give it another shot with a different server and I'm sure we will have a...
Read moreI was wandering around outside with my friends after visiting the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, having no familiarity with the area, and the music playing outside on the patio dining area was UNREAL. I couldn't help myself, I started grooving! So, of course, we were drawn in. The ambiance was divine; evocative sculptures and interior design, color scheme, and bar layout. It was so beautiful and pleasing to the senses.
Then! Our awesome waiter Bradley greeted us, obviously grooving to the beats produced by Josh (who is apparently known for his style), gave us great service and advice, and added to the cheerful vibe. I should add that I loved the volume of the music: loud enough to get the party going, but not so loud that I had to yell over it or strain to hear my friends. We were able to have a perfectly comfortable conversation.
The cocktails we ordered were spot on (compliments to the bartender!) and the food was delicious and the servings generous. Definitely a sensible option to split for diners looking for a lighter meal. Best of all, this experience didn't come with an exorbitant price tag! Drinks, starters and entrees are all between 7-15 bucks or so.
I am eager to find myself here again when I come back...
