The gallery features beautiful, vibrant landscape art.
I love the art medium here, paint on canvas, colorful/vibrant environment/landscape pieces of nature. However, where things get a little rocky is the initial interaction I had when walking through the door, it was cracked open slightly, walked in, said hello to the woman at the computer. It was a mother-daughter combo sitting and talking with each other, the owners I imagine.
The daughter was sitting at the computer, she asked if I create art, I said I was a hated artist (technically not true - and I should stop introducing myself like this), I'm a prolific AI artist (I don't sell anything), she didn't quite know what that meant so I tried explaining it to the best of my ability. I don't think I did a very good job, the daughter seemed to take a negative turn quickly.
The daughter issued a veiled threat after my explanation of how AI art works, she said if anyone steals her artwork she would sue them to the fullest extent of the law. While I understand the concern about theft, the tone came off as unnecessarily hostile for a first-time visitor. I completely agree that it's wrong to steal other people's work, but we'll agree to disagree on AI art as a whole.
The mother on the other hand seemed interested to learn more, I showed her a couple pieces on my phone, she seemed pleasant. I liked her a lot. I would talk with her again any day and hopefully do a better job at explaining I don't try and steal people's artwork. She asked me what pieces I liked, I walked around, told her about two of them, I recall the name Rachel as the artist of one of the pieces.
To clarify, the daughter did eventually apologize, and didn't mean to be hostile and I tried to clarify many times that I'm just making art to express myself. I'm just an artist in a medium that isn't accepted and that's okay, I'm going to continue making what I call art. I like all mediums of art, physical and digital.
I wish the mother the best, and I hope the daughter takes a different approach on future interactions...
Read moreGallery Andrea did me a favor by agreeing to consign my painting. Then they sold it and never told me it was sold until I inquired about it after not seeing it displayed in their store. Then after explaining it had sold, proceeded to tell me they didn't have the money but would make payments to me. They never produced a bill of sale as requested by me. Rather, they simply had me accept the price based on their word as to what it sold for. I accepted payment based on their word of what it sold for months after it was sold and only after I was continuously ignored and had to involve an attorney. They did then pay me a sum of money based on the amount "they said" it sold for. I will never remove this post. I have updated it to reflect that you did pay me and I accepted. I am well within my rights to post this comment. It's not defamation...
Read moreI've been a customer of Gallery Andrea for over 20 years. It is a family operation of Andrea de Kerpely Zak (mom and primary artist) and Andrea Z. (daughter, artist and businesswoman). I always make time to visit when I’m in the area because I love the art they make and show and make me feel like family whenever I’m there.
It is a wonderfully friendly atmosphere and a lovely mix of floral original paintings, sculpture, landscape and portraiture, representational and abstract. My home has over a dozen items procured from Gallery Andrea and I’m sure I will add more in the future. I've given gifts for weddings and other significant life events from Gallery Andrea. The Andreas have deeply influenced the images I see on a daily basis, have brightened my home, and helped put a regular smile on my face. A gallery not...
