We go to the location on Union Hills and DTPHX weekly. After both locations sold out of the vegan pot pie, we called Scottsdale to verify they had the pasty AND the gravy it comes with, the girl said they did. We drove 45 minutes, we pick it up and ten minutes into the drive, we realize they forgot the gravy and turn around. We go back in and wait ten minutes. Cody, a server finally acknowledged us, as we went to explain the missing gravy, he immediately knew what was missing and said they ran out earlier. A bit irritating that they not only allowed me to pay for it, but also failed to mention it was missing items.
He asked if we’d like a refund, we stated we would because that’s 50% of what makes the meal, the gravy that it comes with. He said he is busy and to call later and he’ll refund it over the phone. He wasn’t even the one to get tipped by us, want management, but was willing to assist.
We called three times in an attempt to reach Cody to no avail. I sent an email that also went unrecognized. I’ve emailed kudos emails twice regarding how great staff is in the past which they also don’t reply to, so I’ll take being ignored by them with a grain of salt. With no other option, I filed a dispute with my credit card company. I’m a month into it and they are fighting tooth and nail with my bank over a measly $19, I finally gave up as the money must mean more to them than it does to me. It’s really disappointing that their staff is awesome, the labor seems to take ownership of situations before management, and the food is great but ownership and management sets...
Read moreWe have been coming to this location for almost a year and fell in love with it from the beginning. A diverse menu of delicious combinations and great flavors. That said, over the last few visits things have really dropped off. Service had gotten slower and slower. It seems no one is managing the business. Staff spends more time "hanging out" with each other and chatting than taking care of the guests. In addition, the food quality has dropped, it's more often bland and lacks seasoning. That is, if you can even get what you want in the first place. The last three visits they have been out of the same items, plus today the waitress read off a list of a half dozen entrees and several appetizers they were out of. When we commented on how many there were, her response was that was "low for this place. " This was 430 in the afternoon on a Friday. How do you expect to do business this way? If you are always running out, how about increase the inventory? You might actually sell more and make a higher profit. Or just keep doing it the way you are and you'll stop running out of things because your loyal customers will be loyal elsewhere... Hopefully someone wakes up the management and they actually get this place running properly again, because when it's running right it's great, but it's far from that...
Read moreDecided to do family dinner here on a Wednesday evening. We sat down at 6:40 and our order wasn't taken until 7:00. Several groups of people did not stay that long to order and left soon after. Other groups sat and ordered, and even received their food before us. We received food at 7:50. There was one single waitress in the whole place. The food was ok, and I'm sure it tasted better because we were hungry.
Bottom line: these are elevated Hot Pockets and the management is clearly not making smart business decisions by only having 1 waitress and 40 customers.
Suggestions: pare the menu down to 10-15 best-selling pasties. If you can't hire more wait staff, then close off half of the restaurant. Consider transitioning to a bar-first establishment and have pasties as a take-out only item. Whoever manages this establishment must have failed B school. Nothing is sustainable here. By ignoring staffing and service issues, this place is losing out on revenue. Pay employees more, do a better job recruiting, and consider streamlining the menu to make it easier on the cook staff. When you charge $15 for a Hot Pocket, you can afford to be one of the highest paying...
