Avoid at ALL Costs - Horrible Service, Inexcusable Wait
Our family of 9 adults was incredibly disappointed with our experience at Jeni's in Scottsdale. We arrived at 9:00 PM on a Monday, excited to try the unique flavors after seeing the line out the door - which, we quickly learned, was a huge mistake.
The line was long because of the shockingly slow service. There were only TWO employees working, and one of them seemed to be actively avoiding serving customers. She spent the entire time we were there erasing the board, fiddling with things, and generally doing anything BUT scooping ice cream. The other employee was scooping at a snail's pace. The new location is cute & a bit smaller than the one in old town Scottsdale, the only thing I wish they had was a little bit of a bigger space so there could be more seating options inside instead of just one small section directly in front of the window.
The staff were very friendly & you are able to get samples of any of the ice cream before picking out what you want in your order. They sell the scoops as a "half" scoop, but the scoop size is still a pretty decent size. If you get the bowl with the three scoops & fresh waffle cone you might be too full to finish it all. The in house made waffle cones are delicious.
They also have a large freezer full of different flavors you can take home for $12 per pint. When looking at them the staff member helping me let me know there was a flavor or two in the pints that wasn't out...
