I had some pretty terrible experiences as a kid with dentists and orthodontists, so much that I avoided getting any dental work as much as possible, just me and my sonic care tooth brush. I never smile with my teeth because I am ashamed of my smile. :( I have MAJOR ANXIETY when it comes to any kind of dental work! Fast forward to my early thirties and now the lack of care and terrible work I had done in the past has caught up with me. I have known for the last few years that something was wrong with my bite and I had noticed the shape of my jawline change enough for me to notice. The constant aching from my teeth not lining up and biting of my cheeks brought me to yelp to look for an orthodontist that has had plenty of experience but also excellent reviews. I wanted to find someone who's for lack of a better term chair side manner was as fantastic as his work and office. I chose Dr. Wong for his excellent reviews and convenient location in Capitol Hill. You walk into his office and it radiates a calm and soothing environment. His staff! Every single member of his staff was welcoming and so pleasant. Trece is an angel and so easy to talk to! I was able to express all of the issues I was having with no anxiety at all! Dr. Wong's office has all of the latest technology so there were no intrusive x-ray's, and no tear forming bite downs things. When Dr. Wong met with me to go over my concerns, he instantly made me feel at ease and let me know that I was in the drivers seat when it came to what needed to be done. He walked me through his assessment, which meant I needed orthodontia to re-align my bite. He also noted that we would need to extract an impacted tooth as a result of the bad dentistry I had as a child. Dr. Wong recommended a dentist for me to see, that he personally recommended and knew would be sensitive to my anxiety. He then recommended a ortho/maxofilliary surgeon that would need to do the extraction that had a calm presence. What I was most impressed with was that Dr. Wong was not about pushing orthodontia as a solution. He listened to my overall concerns and assessed my face to determine the best course of action for me to have the smile that I deserved. Dr. Wong personally called the dentist he recommended and not only talked to him about my anxiety but he wanted to work with Dr. Beck to make sure that they were all on the same page when it came to my care. He then personally called my oral surgeon and then paid a visit to the prosthodontist that he recommended that I work with to make sure that the team he recommended for me was all on the same page. He went above and beyond what I would have ever expected!! The fact that he took time out of his busy schedule just to make sure that his recommended dental dream team had the same plans he recommended was amazing!! I would highly recommend Dr. Wong and his team to everyone and especially those that have any anxiety when it comes to Dental work. Dr. Wong and I will be working closely together for the next year so I will have an update...

I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Wong and his entire team. Every aspect of my experience with them thus far has been first class. From scheduling my initial consultation, to now being in full active treatment, every interaction I’ve had with Dr. Wong and his team has been nothing less than a truly enjoyable experience. Dare I say, I actually look forward to my appointments with them!

When I first decided to pursue orthodontic treatment, I looked into several other practices before finally finding Dr. Wong. All the other practices I visited were the same; very impersonal, almost mechanical in their approach with people, and I felt like I was simply another dollar sign and a number they could add to their list. Nothing felt right. I decided to continue my search, and stumbled upon Dr. Wong’s practice. He came extremely highly regarded by a few other dental professionals I contacted and, even though his office was out of the way for me, I decided to reach out and see if they could help me. Making that first phone call to their office turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Upon meeting Dr. Wong I knew within the first two minutes of talking with him that he was different in all the best ways.

Setting aside Dr. Wong’s elite technique and skill as an orthodontist, what really impresses me about him is the kind of person he is. Dr. Wong is without question one of the most compassionate, caring, considerate, and friendly human beings I have ever met. You can tell by the way he smiles at you and talks with you that he genuinely cares just as much about you personally as he does about your orthodontic treatment, which is a far cry from my experience with the other practices I investigated. Dr. Wong has also found himself a fantastic team of people to work with him. Everyone there, including his dog, Chico, adds their own unique touch, which only contributes to the value of the practice. All of the clinical specialists are top notch, and always make me feel cared for, listened to, and treat me with gentle hands and a kind heart. His front staff is no exception either. I always leave Dr. Wong’s office feeling better than when I came. How many other people can say that about their orthodontist!?

As for my results, while I’ve been in treatment for only a few months, I am already noticing monumental improvements in my smile, my bite, and the issues with headaches and TMJ I used to experience are virtually gone. I leave every appointment excited to see the changes that will occur over the next few weeks! And the best part is, because Dr. Wong offers clear ceramic brackets in addition to traditional metal brackets and Invisalign, my braces are hardly noticeable while my results thus far definitely are!

Having orthodontic treatment with Dr. Wong has been one the most positive, life changing experiences I’ve ever had. My results are outstanding, and, more importantly, my experience has been astonishingly profound. I love Dr. Wong and his team, and cannot recommend them...

I recently started my invisalign treatment with Dr. Wong, and I am so glad that I did! My wife had been suggesting for years that I get a consultation for braces/invisalign, but I didn't think my teeth were "crooked" enough to warrant a second orthodontic treatment. I had braces as a young teenager, but neglected to wear my retainers and as a result slowly but surely things started shifting, and my bite was increasingly worse. At my initial consultation with Dr. Wong, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the whole staff and office atmosphere made me feel! As I'm sure many people can agree, going to any dentist office is not my idea of a fun or relaxing lunch break/day off! Not only are they all very welcoming, but each staff member is very educated and able to answer any and all questions I had! As reluctant as I was at the thought of getting treatment in my 30's, I am thankful that I finally did. I found out that had I not, I would have continued to wear down my enamel to a point where I would have been looking at major dental restorations that could have been avoided! Even though the "crooked" appearance wasn't a concern of mine, I was able to see in the diagnostic records that were taken at my exam (all were taken complimentary and sent to my dentist that same day!) the damage that I was actually causing to my own teeth with daily wear and night clenching/grinding. And as an added bonus to correcting my bite, and saving my teeth, I will also get the straight smile that I had for a short time after my initial braces treatment years ago....only this time I will definitely wear my retainers! As far as the invisalign process itself goes, I am loving it! It took a week or so to get used to having trays in my mouth at all times (except for when eating) and they feel pretty snug for the first 3-4 days but by the time 2 weeks is up I am looking forward to switching to my next set as I am able to visibly see the results as they happen! It is amazing what orthodontics has evolved into since my braces long ago! All it took was one simple visit for photos, x-rays, and an amazing 3-D Scan of my teeth (No need for the horrible impressions anymore!) and within a week I was able to watch a video of exactly what changes would be happening throughout my 9 month treatment. Then I got to approve the treatment proposal, they submitted for the trays to be made, and within 2 weeks I was back for the first delivery of my invisalign trays! Much more simple than I would have ever thought. Can't praise this team/office enough for my experience so far!
