I just walked by the Seattle Antiques Market at about 9:55 in the morning, and there where three entry points; two were marked with "No Trespassing Signs," and one was wide open with an arrow pointing the way in. After taking a few steps toward the entrance, I heard a shrill voice yelling in the distance. It was apparently the owner. I walked over and asked, "When does it open? I see the 'No Trespassing' signs everywhere, but no sign for the business hours." To this, he replied in a particularly nasty tone, "that's all you need to know. I open when I open. I open in three minutes." Well, I said, "Have a nice day" in the way that means "Go F$&k yourself" and walked away. If it were possible to give zero stars, I would have.
I just moved to Seattle about two weeks ago, and I've already spent several thousand dollars furnishing and decorating my apartment. My experience with retailers and wholesalers has been largely positive, but when it comes to The Seattle Antiques Market, they will never see a penny of my money, and I encourage all of you to also shop elsewhere. Nasty, I'll-tempered dolts deserve neither my...
Read moreThe Seattle Antique Market is, without a doubt, a five-star destination for antique enthusiasts. As the top spot for antiques in the area, it lives up to its reputation with the largest and most diverse selection, all curated by a single passionate individual. The array of items available is truly impressive, offering something for every kind of collector. My own visit resulted in a substantially heavier bag, filled with unique finds including a charming statue, an assortment of books, stylish bookends, and several other intriguing items. The prices here are fixed, which adds a straightforward, no-haggle dimension to the shopping experience – quite unusual, but it works. A delightful bonus was the opportunity to play an old-school game, complete with the chance to win candy – a nostalgic touch that added to the fun. The market is not only about the items it sells; it's also about how beautifully everything is displayed, making it a visually pleasing experience. The Seattle Antique Market is a must-visit location for anyone looking for unique and high-quality antiques in a well-organized, inviting...
Read moreDefinitely some cool items in here, although I do agree that some pieces are quite overpriced. Especially for the quality of the item. But the thing that rubbed me wrong the most was the minstrel dolls. There’s quite a few of them in a glass display. Selling these items is a disgrace to the POC in this community. After being quite shocked by the fact these are being sold, I noticed when I went to the counter that they had LGBT stickers and one in particular that said “melanin poppin”. I just think it’s quite ironic (and actually disgusting) that they’re selling these dolls but at the same time trying to come off as progressive? I brought this up to the clerks and they didn’t seem too amused. They just asked if I read the paper that came along with the minstrel dolls. If you scroll down in the reviews you will see another post with pictures of the dolls. It’s disgusting to sell, and if they’re such historic items give them to a museum instead of selling them for $40 a pop to bigots. Just...
