We stayed for four nights before and after our cruise to Alaska and thoroughly enjoyed both stays in a water view room on the 8th (top) floor.|We booked directly with the hotel and the whole process was handled very efficiently including my request to stay in the same room for our return stay.|The spacious room had recently been renovated to an excellent standard and included a very good shower, comfortable bed and ample storage space. We really enjoyed the two swivel chairs where we could sit and enjoy the fantastic views of Elliott Bay and Puget Sound, Pike Place Market, the Seattle Great Wheel and the Olympic Mountains in the distance. The cleanliness of the room and the hotel couldn't be faulted. All staff were very friendly and made us welcome especially the Front Desk staff who gave us excellent advice on the local area. |The Inn's terrace on the 5th floor was a fantastic private area where guests can take their own drinks / food and we sat there every evening watching the sun go down, the market closing, the boats on Elliot Bay and the Great Wheel's light show. |The location is right next to Pike Place Market so you feel part of the activities but it's also sufficiently independent that you can be detached if you want due to very good soundproofing and the private terrace. We really enjoyed watching the market traders setting up every morning from our room. The Inn is adjacent to the corner of Pine Street & 1st Avenue so there are numerous coffee and other shops and a few bars nearby e.g. Old Stove, Pike Brewing and the Taproom at Pike.|For anyone cruising, we paid $25 for the taxi transfer to Pier 91 and $15 minimum charge for the taxi transfer from Pier 66 to the Inn.|If we cruise from Seattle again then I'd definitely...
Read moreWe stayed one night in this hotel last week. My mom and I arrived at the hotel at exactly 4 pm. The front desk told me that the room wasn’t ready. He said he will call us once it was ready. We all know that the check in time was 4pm and sometimes it happens that rooms don’t get ready at an exact time especially when it’s a busy day. We were patiently waiting at the lobby though we were tired from our 3 hour drive from Canada. Front desk gave us a bottled water to drink and the manager handed us a complementary breakfast meal ticket worth $35 for both me and my mom in compensation for the delay.
The thing here is they did not inform us why the room wasn’t ready. I wondered why but Also I phoned the hotel desk a day before our check in date to notify them that we needed a rollaway bed. We were expecting the room to be ready by 4pm but it ended up we waited for almost an hour for them to get the room ready. It was very inconvenient but the manager and the lady front desk was apologetic. Secondly, I’m of Asian descent. I was the first one who arrived and checked in the desk. The next people who arrived to check in are a bunch of White people lining up. To my surprise all their rooms were ready for check in except ours. Not sure if this has something to do with race or maybe because we’re only staying one night. But it did not give us a good impression as first time customers. This was my mom’s first step on American soil. These issues are happening. I’m a healthcare worker from Canada. I drove all the way to Seattle just to unwind and take a break from my stressful job. Sadly, it felt like it got worst during our stay. I will never recommend or go back to this...
Read moreAfter much researching, we booked this hotel for our anniversary. On the day of our arrival we received a voice mail from Eric stating that their air conditioning had failed and, although the ambient temperature was moderate in his opinion, he was willing to book us a room in another nearby 4 Star hotel, if the lack of AC was an issue. He had called us with plenty of time in advance so that we could weigh our options and not have to deal with such a "surprise" after traveling on the road for quite some time. Upon our arrival at 9:00pm before checking in, he personally took us up to the room to allow us to decide if we wanted to stay at the hotel. He noted that he was scouring for some fans to be placed in the room to make it more comfortable. We asked if there was a department store nearby (for purchasing fans), and he informed us that the hotel had already bought out a local Target's inventory. So Eric didn't just come to us with a problem, but had several solutions crafted and the hotel had proactively pursued their execution. We ultimately decided to stay when we saw how much the hotel staff bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. They offered a compensatory adjustment to our bill for the room, valet parking and the fitness center that was more than fair! The customer service he and his staff exhibited was over and above and allowed us to enjoy this beautiful hotel. Speaking of beauty, Room # 614 offers a unique view of the bay and Public Market and was spacious and nicely appointed. We highly...
