Iām a frequent Four Seasons guest and usually impressed by the consistency and service the brand is known for, but unfortunately this stay at the Four Seasons Seattle fell short of expectations.
Dining at Goldfinch Tavern Upon arrival, we sat for lunch and ordered a chicken club to split and the fish and chips. Despite the restaurant being empty, the food took nearly 40 minutes. The chicken club was excellent, but the fish and chips were soggy, bland, and visually unappealing. When the manager checked in, we mentioned this and she offered another chicken club. Oddly, the second one was completely different from the firstāwith cheese and a sauceāwhich was inconsistent and not what I would expect from Four Seasons. Across our stay, Goldfinch also seemed to be āoutā of multiple menu items, including Dungeness crab on our last day, which was surprising for Seattle.
Room & Facilities The room itself was comfortable and well-appointed, though being on the 3rd floor it was noisy. The gym was very goodābright with a nice view, well-stocked with water, and connected to the spa changing area that included a steam room. The showers in the spa made loud noises when turned on, suggesting water pressure issues. One odd housekeeping oversight: toilet paper wasnāt replaced, and I was left to use Kleenex despite daily service.
Concierge Service This was the most disappointing aspect. I asked the concierge for a fun, local spot to take clients who were craving lobster rolls. Both Ryan and another concierge enthusiastically recommended crab rolls at Elliottās. We wentāonly to be told by a longtime server there that Elliottās has never had crab rolls on their menu. Thatās a glaring miss and embarrassing when entertaining clients. When I raised it on return, one concierge apologized, but it left me questioning how well the team knew their city.
Separately, I asked about a Four Seasons-branded hat to add to my collection (other properties have provided them). A lime green one was kindly sent up, though not my taste. When I asked if I could exchange for a darker green version, I was told by spa staff that ātheyāre different departmentsā and nothing could be done. Later, when I again asked the concierge if it could be swapped, I was told simply to āleave it in the room if I didnāt want it.ā That responseāespecially after their earlier errorāwas not what I would expect from a brand built on going above and beyond.
Spa Experience The highlight of the entire stay was my massage with Nicole, a 12-year veteran of Four Seasons. She was outstandingāwarm, professional, and truly the best part of the trip. Katie at the bar also stood out with her friendly and attentive service.
Checkout At checkout, when asked about my stay, I honestly shared that it wasnāt great. The staff member just nodded without further commentāa missed opportunity to recover the guest experience.
Final Thoughts The property has potential: a nice gym, comfortable rooms, and some standout staff like Nicole and Katie. But overall, the service felt inconsistent, unpolished, and at times dismissiveāfar below the Forbes standard I associate with Four Seasons. For the premium rates charged, this location didnāt deliver, and I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had our first time experience staying at the four seasons Seattle and it was absolutely amazing! We used to stay at Edgewater since itās literally by the water. This time we decided to stay in the city and boy am I glad I did! Our flight is very early in the morning and by the time we arrived at the hotel itās only 10ish but surprisingly our room is ready for us. ||The staff in the hotel are all very friendly and professional! The room is spacious and clean! Bathroom is big with shower AND a giant tub. ||We didnāt rent a car since we are staying in the city but the hotel location is super convenient! Just a few block to the pike place market and super close to the light rail station as well. Plenty of restaurants nearly and the yummy FontĆ© coffee shop is a few steps away. ||The hotel has so much to offer! We have coffee station by the lobby every morning serving Fonte coffee and some pastry. In the afternoon there are watermelon iced tea with dried fruits and oats snacks. If you want they can even bring the coffee to your room every morning! They also have car services to take you anywhere near the hotel as long as itās within 1 mile radius. We took an advantage of that for a trip to Nordstrom. Super lovely drive with a super friendly staff. The room has plenty of storage for our luggageās. The closet is big and there are plenty of drawers for our clothes. The fridge has liquid and drinks if you want to purchase any, thereās a snack drawer also for purchase. ||In room thereās room service you can order, Nespresso coffee pod and water boiler for your tea. They provide 2 bottles of water each day for your stay. The one thing I absolutely love is when I asked for slippers for my daughter they brought over 2 different sizes and the smaller version fits just perfectly. My daughter is 4 years old and itās rare when a hotel provides kids slippers let alone just the perfect size for a toddler. Another thing I love is when we return back to our room in the evening, they clean the room so nicely with so many little details. They put a glasses wipe under my sunglasses and they wrap my charging cord with a little clip thing and the slippers are nicely placed by the door. ||Also, we came here to celebrate my birthday. When we return back to our room a super nice cake was on the table with a lovely card. The cake was delicious and so beautiful! ||The hotel has a pool and jacuzzi and we were told even if we didnāt use the spa services we can use the sauna! The weather is very cold so we didnāt try the pool. If we ever come back in a warm weather we would love to try out the pool. ||We had such a great time and the four seasons Seattle had definitely won my heart and this will be my go to hotel when I come back to Seattle and I can come here every year for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter what felt like an eternity of travel, including a grueling 9-day trek that culminated in a bleary-eyed, 3 AM departure from NYC to Seattle, I found myself standing, somewhat disheveled and definitely weary, in the grand lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. Now, at 58, I've seen my fair share of hotel lobbies, but there's always something about the Four Seasons that makes me feel like I've stepped into a little slice of luxury. However, my bubble of anticipation was quickly burst by the efficient yet somewhat curt front desk staff who informed me, with an apologetic tilt of the head, that the hotel was fully booked for the weekend. My heart sank. The thought of trudging through Seattle's unseasonably warm 82-degree May weather in search of another hotel was about as appealing as a root canal.
But then, a glimmer of hope. The front desk offered me the use of their spa to freshen up. "A spa day wasn't exactly what I had in mind for my arrival," I thought, "but at this point, I'd take a hose down in the back alley if it meant feeling human again." The spa, though described as small, was a well-supplied oasis that seemed to anticipate my every need before I even knew I had it.
Enter Jonathan and Sophia, my guardian angels for the day. They welcomed me with such warmth and hospitality, it was as if they were greeting a long-lost friend. They showed me to a locker, provided me with a plush robe that felt like a hug, and offered me full use of the spa facilities. The steam room was a particular delight, enveloping me in a soothing eucalyptus-scented mist that seemed to melt away the stress of travel.
As I came back to life in the spa, sipping on orange-infused water and nibbling on fresh fruit, I couldn't help but reflect on the unexpected turn my day had taken. What started as a travel-weary nightmare had transformed into a serene interlude, thanks to the kindness and attentiveness of Jonathan and Sophia. Their acts of hospitality, though seemingly small, were monumental to me. They reminded me of why the Four Seasons is such an esteemed hotel chain, where the quality of service and attention to detail are unparalleled.
So, kudos to the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle for employing such extraordinary individuals. Jonathan and Sophia, you are the epitome of what it means to provide exceptional guest service. Your kindness turned a weary traveler's day around, and for that, I am eternally grateful. The Four Seasons may have been fully booked, but in the end, I received the most luxurious and rejuvenating experience without ever stepping foot...
