We went out of our way to come here on our way back to Nashville because in a travel magazine we'd read about an amazing cookie they served. It was a way to see more scenery and get a special treat. Not only was their cookie maker no longer on staff and a replacement not hired (so the bakery case was mostly empty), some of their snack offerings seemed like higher-priced but identical grocery store items. For example, they had wheat thin crackers, chicken crackers, and oyster crackers, each packaged in plastic box or a nice bag. However, they looked exactly like grocery store crackers, as if they simply opened the boxes, repackaged them, and slapped on a higher price tag, like they were something special. After I noticed that, I wondered about all the other products they sold in fancy wrappings and decided to steer clear. I bought a couple of snacks because I was hungry, but I was unimpressed. The rest of the store was nice enough, but I wouldn't shop the food department again. I expected something like the Vermont Country Store, but this isn't it. Loved the chairs and view outside, though, as well as the little ice...
Read moreWent to check out the store tonight, closing time of 9pm. As myself & some friends were walking up the parking lot to the door to go inside we suddenly see the lights inside of the store go out. So we checked the time & it was 8:31pm. We thought, well maybe they lost power or something so we went on to the door to see. No, the doors were locked the staff was inside at the counter closing everything down. If you're going to close early, you should probably make sure you don't have customers walking up the parking lot to come in or post an apology sign stating that you had to close early. One of the guys in our group even called the store & someone answered, so he asked what time are they open until and we were told 9 during the weekends (it was around 8:45 at this point). While we were in the parking lot just chatting and catching up, a couple of other vehicles came up and got the same surprise we did. One of the employees also came out & walked right by us without even saying a word as to why the store was closed. Needless to say, pretty disappointed by the outcome but luckily our children still enjoyed seeing...
Read moreI was recommended Ogle Brothers by my girlfriend to check out On Cloud brand sneakers, stating they were the best for my feet. First time in, and my jaw dropped! They have a lot of stuff!! I made my way over to the shoes, and I was greeted by this lovely young woman named Rebecca. We talked quite a bit about the On Cloud sneakers, and actually chosen two of the black ones, one for me, one for my girl. Rebecca and I wandered through the different displays, talking about the products, and on to local info about Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. She also recommended several places where we could go and hike for some beautiful vistas. Meandering through, Rebecca guided me over to a pottery section. My girl and I love to sit for tea in the evenings, and Rebecca kinda convinced me to get this lovely little tea set as a gift to my girlfriend (which by the way, she absolutely loved!). Without Rebecca, I just might have been lost in Ogle Brothers... she was kind, casual, yet totally professional, and a good conversationalist. If you, the reader, ever make your way there, seek out Rebecca... totally...
