We decided to get away to Piegon Forge for Thanksgiving week. We shopped around and this hotel seemed to have affordable rates so we booked (we were not to happy to when we saw the rate we paid for Thursday night). We know it would cost a little more, but it was as much as the other nights combined especially considering it was a dated hotel.
Checkin --here's your amount and room key and she went back to her cell phone (sorry we interrupted!). We stayed in Room #402 which included a kitchenette/small table and chairs, sitting area and a balcony overlooking the pool and parkway. First thing we noticed was about a 8 inch gap under the room door. The sliding glass doors going out to the tiny patio have no seals/insulation and cold air was seeping in also the lock didn't work. This really needs some attention so no unwanted pests invite themselves to stay the night. The sitting area was good and the sofa was nice (seating cushion inserts do need to be replaced). We didn't use it, but the sofa pulls out for an extra bed.
Beds -We always pull back all the covers on our beds and store all the extra bedding/lusggage protectors etc in the closet. The sheets were clean and there were plenty of pillows. Actually the beds were fairly comfortable.
Bathroom - The bathroom had great shower pressure with plenty hot water. We had plenty of linens. The toilet seat would not stay up and proved to be a challenge for my husband to pee. This bathroom definitely needs to be remodeled with new floor tile, a taller toilet and new vanity that has edges that are finished. It is very outdated and looks unclean. There was not even a toilet paper holder...the roll sat on the counter.
Breakfast - Breakfast in the lobby was just okay, but free. Due to covid it was grab and go only. The lady serving could have used help (not her fault and she was doing the best she could do). However hotel guests were frustrated with having to wait so long.
Covered parking is offered first come/first serve and the spaces are limited. The best way to leave the hotel is by taking a left from the parking lot, go one block and take a right on a back street and another right to catch a redlight. The noise level is loud from the parkway, but we knew this from previous years visiting Pigeon Forge (brought ear plugs from home). Check out was easy. Once again no "thanks for staying with us" or "hope you enjoy your stay" or "have a safe trip home". We don't expect red carpet, but a little more hospitality could have been shown. Overall we enjoyed getting away visiting Pigeon Forge and the area after months being home. This hotel has great potential with some updates and...
Read moreWe stayed here over the weekend and when we got there we had two rooms one king one two double queen beds me and my husband are in the king room my mom and sister were in the queen room we walked in to our room and it was perfect AC was going it was nice and cool my mom and sister‘s room the AC was blowing out warm air It was very hot in the room, my mom has had surgeries and health issues so we called and asked them if there was anything they could do, the manager came up and looked at the AC and said it’s fine and said it’s blowing out Cold air and try to argue about it we actually brought two small table fans that we had plugged in so my mom wouldn’t get overheated and one of the fans was kind of sitting behind the TV where you couldn’t see it if you walked into the room my mom was standing in front of that and the manager said well your hair is blowing so it must be working pretty good and my mom pulled the fan and said it looks like that’s cause I’m standing in front of the fan the manager was very rude about it and acted like she didn’t wanna do anything about the AC and we told her that we would try it and see what Happens, because she said they were booked for the night and didn’t have another room. Well then about 3 AM my mom and sisters TV turned on just a plain white screen very bright work my sister and my mom up and stayed on until about 5:30 in the morning we told management about it the next morning and we were told that well why didn’t you call us and my mom said well my grandson was in the room with us and we didn’t wanna wake him up at 3 AM and they got really hateful about it and while we were at breakfast the hotel actually called us and basically tried to kick us out of the hotel trying to say they’ve never had any issues like this and never had the TV happen and just being completely rude about it and we had reservations to stay one more night. They ended up only giving a 15% discount for one room for one night. After reviewing other Reviews father down today I’ve seen multiple people complain about the TVs, And the AC. And they charged my card at 8am on Friday we didn’t get to the hotel until 6pm they did not tell us that they would charge our card before we even got there, most hotels once you check in will charge your card, The card I made the reservation with wasn’t even the card we were paying with so it overdrafted my account. The young man that checked us in and the lady that was there that night was very nice but management is very very rude and ugly when being confronted with issues. This hotel will not be getting my...
Read morePigeon river inn is a very affordable getaway destination close to every thing in Pigeon Forge. Me and my family have stayed here a couple years in a row now. It has a great location on the strip only down side is it is a night mare to get out with the traffic but it has a beautiful creek behind the hotel it's not deep the kids loved wading in you can watch the wild life there we have seen ducks, geese, water snakes and even seen a bald eagle hanging around the creek on one of our stays. They have a free breakfast which isn't terrible the dinning area is small but the food is acceptable to be included in room rates. The kids love the glass elevator to look out over the creek. They staff is very friendly. THE Not so good. Like most hotels the beds are not very comfortable there are three very small flat pillows on the beds, the room was very musty smelling and had a damp feel to it I'm assuming this was due to the a/c it wasn't a horrible smell you got use to it but definitely strong entering the room. The furniture is beat to pieces and looks very trashy. It was an enjoyable stay we like the hotel for the most part but the room microwaves suck they seem old school and took about 4 minutes to pop popcorn about half way before it would start burning the first popped. For the price of the room it's pretty awesome I would recommend staying there if your looking for a decent hotel at a decent price. My phone did not save the main picture of the dresser there was about a three inch strip on the end of the dresser that was missing the outer layer all the way from front to back on the top with just the pressed wood showing. There was also makeup or blood or something that had been smeared on the wall by the mirror and hadn't been cleaned from previous guest. Nothing to complain about its just how it was. The bottom of the dresser was in pretty bad shape along the floor with a chunk taken out and pressed wood showing in multiple spots it was just older furniture that had been beat and banged up over the years. And FORGET the WIFI if you have plans on using their internet that's out the door we were on the second floor and it was pretty well non existent it constantly lost signal and never had more than two bars with most of the time being one bar it was not enough to load a video or even browse...
