This facility is only receiving a 1 star because Google doesn’t allow reviews without at least 1. They dont deserve any level of star. My son is in a wheelchair, and this business refused to let him ride the mountain coaster.(he has rode this coaster in the past, FYI) Their reasoning “if the coaster stopped he couldn’t “walk” down the emergency track. If there was a medical emergency on the mountain that person wouldn’t be able to walk down the mountain either. Before riding these rides, customers are made to sign a waiver releasing the facility of any liability. We were ready and willing to sign the standard waiver just like anyone else and they refused to let him sign and ride. The receptionist first told us he couldn’t ride because he couldn’t physically put himself on the ride. She then called a manager over and he said it was because he couldn’t walk down the mountain if the coaster stopped. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are NOT inclusive communities, their businesses discriminate against individuals with disabilities, and they refuse service specifically to individuals in wheelchairs. This is 2025! How is the wheelchair community and people with disabilities still being excluded and refused access to places that the general public get to enjoy whenever they want? My son is VERY AWARE of his surroundings, he was very aware that this business was refusing him service because he couldn’t enter the ride in the same physical fashion as other people and IF(very big IF) the coaster stopped he would be packed down the mountain track instead of walking like able bodied individuals. He was born with Cerebral Palsy and today this business reminded him that if you can’t do and act exactly like the general public then you aren’t worthy of getting to do the same things as them. If you are different, then you don’t matter. If you have to live an adapted and modified life, your efforts aren’t enough, and your disability makes you less than anyone else and you don’t deserve the same opportunities as your peers! This business finds no issue with telling a person they can’t ride because they can’t walk even though their parent is right there saying I will sign WHATEVER waiver I need to, I’m going to ride with him, he has rode this coaster in the past! Why is now so different? What they DONT find an issue with it allowing adults to sign waivers for kids that aren’t even theirs. This was a youth trip, parents not in attendance were not called for permission and they didn’t sign on line waivers in advance. So it’s ok with this business to allow juveniles to ride their coaster with consent from their parents/legal guardians but my son who was right there with me was told no because...
Read moreWe're locals who had been meaning to check this place out. We had company in town so we decided to check it out. The building where we got tickets moved fast enough, especially considering we went on a Saturday.
Getting to the top: If anyone is like me and uneasy about the chairlift for any reason(heights, mobility issues or visiting with a little one you don't want on the chairlift) this place offers an alternate way up which is great. They have a completely enclosed bus to keep you warm or cold and out of the elements. We were traveling with our toddler and did the chairlift going up but I would caution anyone if you're unsure for any reason, take the bus. It is a beautiful ride with views but it is very high. It's also a bit long, which would usually be great but not the best with a busy toddler. We elected to take the bus going back down.
At the top: What greets you at the top are some adorable animals, miniature horses and a miniature highland cow. There's a place to get pictures if you took the chairlift to the top. We went in November so there was a cute little Santa's toy land at the top. There is a bakery and a gift shop along with a few food trucks. I was able to get a hotdog with fries for $6.99. It was a good size, tasted great and considering pricing in the area, price was amazing! Everyone I was with loved their food as well. There are fire pits with corn hole games around them and there was great live music on the stage while we were there. After lunch we walked up the tower and got some absolutely amazing views of the mountains. The play place in the tower was closed while we were there though.
After dark/Christmas: Because the wrist band gets you in and out, we went back after dark to see the Christmas lights. It was beautiful up there after dark with arches of lights, a projection show on the barn, Santa Claus himself and lights on the tower.
Negatives: confusion on what time they close. The Google hours claim they close an hour later than they do, but that seems to be for the mountain coaster. Just be mindful of this. We got to the top and there was a performer stating they were closing in less than half an hour. We had planned to shop but only had time to check out the lights and head back down.
Overall takeaway: I honestly enjoyed this. It wasn't as busy as some similar attractions in the area and despite the spend money to get to the top and spend more money, I enjoyed this quite a bit. My daughter seemed to love the animals and we bought an awesome souvenir photo top remember our visit. Staff was great, views were beautiful. We'll...
Read moreThe biggest disappointment was the service. On the second day, we wanted to return but only had 3 of our 5 wristbands. We called four times before going, where AI answers and attempts to give you help. AI told us that if we didn't have our wristband, it wasn't a problem—just come see Guest Service. We also asked for a live person and got voicemail twice. We brought our bank account that shows our purchase from the day before, and what wristbands we had left. We also sent a text to the number provided (which was suggested by the recording but we never got a reply). We came with the intentions of paying for additional attractions (the hay ride, possibly more mountain coaster rides, and to eat lunch). We waited in line 45 minutes. When we got to the window, the guest service agent said that we cannot get in without a receipt. I told her we didn't get a receipt, but she said I could have scanned a QR code on the screen the day before that would have given me a copy of my receipt. She said they don't provide paper receipts at all. She was not willing to let us ride the chair lift to the top, not willing to let us buy lunch, not willing to let us purchase coaster rides...nothing. I asked "so you're telling me I need to leave and take my family elsewhere?" She said "yes, I cannot help you unless you had a receipt..." Keep in mind, all wristbands have the date on them, the list of services purchased, and we had most of them, we just didn't have all of them. From our bank purchase they could see exactly what our total was. I went ahead and found someone else who worked at the Ranch and explained our problem. She offered to get the manager. I waited about 15 minutes. The manager was not at all willing to help. I explained how we wanted to spend money and add services, but she wouldn't budge. Our conversation was over, I mentioned that I never complain, but that I would be sure to leave a clear and honest review online. That's when she stopped me and said "I'll get you passes back to the top, but it won't have any coaster rides." I said I understood—that I never wanted extra coster rides, I just wanted to buy hay rides and possibly add on coasters. She left, came back with a very unpleasant and unthankful attitude, and put the wristbands on us. We were not given the opportunity to buy the hay rides, and when I asked how we can get those services, she told me I needed to wait in line again (the same line where I just waited...
