The short lady working at the front of food court at closing tonight (01/03 around 8-8:30) had the nastiest attitude I’ve ever had to deal with. It’s very disappointing and honestly straight up embarrassing for a brand like Costco to have someone like this representing them. I waited patiently for my order for a pretty long time (considering it was fairly slow) just to be considerate of the staff and when I asked for an update/gave my order number, the employee was unnecessarily rude and said she doesn’t know what the order is just because I give her a number. I kindly let her know what it was and showed her the receipt just for her to turn around and talk bad about me to the employees working in the back, telling them that it was my fault because their system was having issues and I should’ve said something earlier. She then reiterated this to me and said that they announced they were having issues earlier and I should’ve came up when they asked but I was literally in the front waiting the whole time and never heard anyone say this. Even if it was announced and I just didn’t hear it (which I know for a fact that I didn’t) that doesn’t condone her behavior. I’m sure they could’ve said it before I got there but like I said, it’s not an excuse and she should’ve just offered to help. Anyways she still got my order wrong even though I said it to her and showed her the receipt. I had to tell her twice what the order was after that just to get her to listen to me and fix it.
I’ve worked in customer service for 10+ years as well as work as manager for another huge company and I would never let an employee with this bad of an attitude be around any customers nor would I ever act like this at work even on my worst days. I gave her a lot of patience and grace because I know working in the service industry can be a lot especially during this time of the year but none of that did anything to help her act like even a slightly decent person. Not to mention before her interaction with me I witnessed her having an attitude with another customer.
You can literally see from my profile that I’ve never written a review before now and that shows how bad this experience was.
I will say that the younger guy working at the pizza counter was a lot friendlier and more helpful as he went out of his way to assure I received all of my order correctively after...
Read moreTire center is good. Too small and understaffed. Took 1 month to get a blown tire fixed. Good thing i had a working spare. Give these poor people working the center a break. Add a couple bays and hire more engineers. I'd give the center 1 star, but those folks hustle under extreme and occasionally hostile conditions. So far, so good once i could finally get in. Looks like a great job. Also, being placed on hold for hours, just schedule an appointment one month out. Not ok. No wait list? Is there no one to manage it? And by that i mean to add to the already busy staff.
Management - just a suggestion. The monoply thing is a ways off, and considering Amazon now has the power with vendors. You may want to spruce up those things Amazon does not touch. Like tire installation. Things you want to see and/or touch before buying. Specialty or food that rots in transit. Etc. I used to buy garments here, but I think you are serving up the rejects on the way to where unwanted clothes go. Island of misfit/ugly clothes and slippers? Where's the cool stuff anymore? I don't need another flannel shirt or to walk by the bazillion types of mom jeans and tacky sweat suits. And I'm not sticking my kid in those dresses. In addition, I'm not buying electronics and such I can find on Amazon for less with better warranties. Added bonus, I don't have to dodge militant cart shoppers when sitting at home waiting for a delivery. It's like Mad Max in there. Oh, and your website is not overly user-friendly, so i am not sure that will help a ton. 2023 folks.
If this is harsh aplogisies, but sure does feel like the people designing the business are snoozing. Unless, of course, you just want to be a bulk food stuffs retailer. Personal note: I'd also like to know how your meat is sourced. Can you hang signs?
The muffins are still awesome. You go bakers! And stocking/ boxing people! And admin office people too! ...
Read moreMy experience with Shoreline's Customer Service/Returns Center was astoundingly positive today! I had purchased an MSI gaming desktop PC from costco.com in April that had problems almost from the get-go with constant crashes. I would have exchanged it, but it was a good deal, and the model had sold out almost immediately, so it would have only been a return if I had brought it back immediaand I would have lost out.
The crashing progressively got worse and worse. I went down the rabbit hole of disabling, updating, rolling back, etc. graphics drivers, changing displays, updating the CPU, updating the BIOS, changing various BIOS settings like underclocking the RAM, booting in safe mode (DO NOT DO WITH PIN PASSWORD ENABLED IN WINDOWS 11 BTW, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LOG IN REQUIRING MESSING WITH COMMAND PROMPTS!!!).
Suffice it to say after 20 hours of diagnostics with friend's help, and swapping out parts, I found that the PSU that MSI had shipped the unit with was defective. I purchased an acceptable PSU online, swapped it out, and the PC works just fine now!
After this laborious process, I decided to ask Shoreline Costco, for a partial refund (just the cost of the part to fix my PC) as store credit. The Assistant Store Manager whose name I believe was either Kathy or Kathleen (I'm so sorry if I got it wrong, you were so nice, thank you!!!) decided to grant my request. They were under no obligation legally to do so, but they could tell that I was distraught, that I had put in serious time to fix an issue on my own, and I had in a way saved them time in facilitating a return with MSI.
I can't promise Costco would do the same for you in the future if you encountered similar issues, but I do recommend that you make your larger electronics purchases from Costco and Costco.com; after this experience I will be looking to purchase at Costco first for all of my such...
