My friends and I were given this room as a gift for the night, and apparently when we checked in, the booking wasn't "Paid in advance", but the credit card that was used to pay for the room was only "paid" to reserve, not to book, even though the reservation stated it was booked and paid. So, there was a mix up when checking in regarding the payment method which only needed to be updated so that I could check in for us (verbally authorized by the person who made the reservation per the front desk's request), following which the payment on file could no longer be used. I was added on the reservation to check us in, not created on a new booking. The confusion and mix up was caused due to a confusing rule about booking in advance vs booking after payment, so be careful when reserving a room here. Following that, the room was lovely, however, our room keys weren't opening the doors, due to a jame, so someone from the front desk needed to let us in after we went back downstairs to inform them of the lockout. After settling in, we attempted to find the ice machine, which there were no signs for, and it wasn't mentioned during check in that the ice machine was in the same spot as the coffee machine/pantry, on the second floor. So it took us some time from our third-floor room to find the ice machine. We would have called down to the front desk to ask where it was, but we assumed there was one on each floor, and the phone in our room had no cord and didn't seem to work, so we thought we'd find it ourselves. Also, we had breakfast in the hotel's breakfast restaurant, and the food was very good, but it was an additional cost for the food ordered. Their room service is also only available for breakfast, so if you want to order room service after 12pm, you must go out to eat because room service for food isn't available. They do have valet parking which is $55 per night, so if you are coming with your own car, you can choose to valet it, or take it to the garage next door, to pay for parking per hour. There is also street parking which is free on Sundays and costs $1.25 per hour, which is also parking for the Assembly Row shopping center. Overall it was a very nice experience, although getting around and checking in is a bit confusing and time-consuming. Their pool was nice and cozy, too, but wasn't meant for diving, but for laps and relaxation.

My recent visit to The Row Hotel, left me utterly disappointed and frustrated, prompting me to share this experience. The evening began with anticipation, but it quickly turned to disappointment. I do agree with other comments location is ideal. Upon arrival, the service was disorganized. We waited for over half an hour to be served, only to receive espresso martinis in mismatched stemmed champagne glasses. A martini must be served in a martini glass! Consistency is not a concern for the establishment. To make matters we ordered a fourth drink, the bartender took the order and after upwards, of 40 minutes of waiting for my drink, a rather impolite woman, curtly declared, "Yeah, I am not going to have time to make you your drink." No apology, no offer for an alternative beverage—just sheer disregard for customer satisfaction. The bar itself was chaotic, and it seemed like the staff had no interest in providing even a basic level of service. As if our experience wasn't bad enough, I witnessed another customer, an elderly lady, ask for a menu. To her astonishment, she was bluntly told, "Not going to have time to get you your food." Such blatant disregard for patrons is inexcusable. Regrettably, we decided not to stay at the hotel, and thus, I cannot comment on the rooms. However, based on the abysmal service at the bar, I have no intention of ever returning. The lack of professionalism, courtesy, and common decency displayed by the staff has ensured that The Row Hotel is permanently scratched off my list of accommodation options. Save yourself the trouble and choose a hotel that values its guests.

Hip and modern, with great service and a fun location. Our room was spacious and beautifully furnished, with comfortable beds. Bathroom was immaculate, and I appreciated that the toilet had its own door. Wi-fi was fast and easy to connect to. Front desk service was very friendly and cheerful (not necessarily what one would expect from a hip hotel). There's a nice fitness room with plenty of cardio equipment (and where you can grab bottles of water). There's also a modest "pantry" on the 2nd floor near the conference/banquet rooms (look for the section that says "Hotel Guests Only"), with a Nespresso machine and some candy. Assembly Row is a great place for shopping, dining, and just plain hanging out. There's a T stop very close to the hotel, but it's the Orange Line, so if you want to get to Harvard or MIT via the T, it'll take around 45 minutes, since you have to take the Orange Line inbound, then switch to the Red Line at Downtown Crossing. We ended up Ubering it all the time, which took more like 15-20 minutes. Overall, this was a really enjoyable stay at a much more affordable rate than any hotel near Harvard Square. I'd definitely stay here again!
