Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery holds a significant place in Sonoma County's wine history, and their wines have garnered recognition through various awards. Here's a review focusing on their history and accolades:
Sebastiani's roots trace back to 1904 when Samuele Sebastiani, an Italian immigrant, established the winery. They played a crucial role in the development of Sonoma County's wine industry. The winery has a rich heritage, with a long-standing tradition of winemaking in the region.
Evolution: Over the years, Sebastiani has adapted to changing wine trends while maintaining its commitment to quality. Currently the Winery is owned by Foley Family Wines. This has led to continued investment in the winery and vineyards.
Gold medals at The Press Democrat North Coast Wine Challenge. Awards from the San Francisco International Wine Competition. Awards from the TEXSOM International Wine Awards. Awards from the New Zealand International Wine Show. It is important to note that many different vintages of Sebastiani wines have won awards over the years. This shows a long term dedication to quality.

Read moreBeautiful winery just a few short blocks walking distance from downtown Sonoma square. This winery is super dog friendly. The interior tasting room is spacious and comfortable -- you can taste standing up by the counter or stead at one of their big tables. There is also outdoor seating by their beautiful grounds and fountain. Definitely a great place to lounge and enjoy the gorgeous weather.
In terms of wine -- I liked their sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, and one of their pinot noirs, but their wine is relatively simplistic. I wasn't a big fan of either of their cabernet sauvignon. Great entry level winery. If you frequent Napa/Sonoma, maybe skip this place in favor of something else more complex.
The staff was very friendly and gives you a few extra pours if you ask. I recommend Marvin, who is also their resident chocolate and wine pairing guy. He's super nice and will explain a lot of things to you if you're...
Read moreWe may have to revisit Sebastiani at a later date, but based on our tasting yesterday it was just okay. The property is historic and with downtown Sonoma built up around it so there isn't much in regards to views here. There is a nice fountain out front and picnic tables spread all over with nice areas to sit and enjoy bottles. You can bring your own picnice supplies or buy a array of things on site. If you sit outside on the weekend, you must come back in to the bar for your next wine in your flight, pours for the flights are on the small side and tend to be inconsistent. Inside is cool for it's historical value with a fireplace but overly dark and I wouldn't want to be there on a nice day. Wine can be hit and miss. Some good ones, many average ones. I would revisit another time for a redo but as of...
