This was my first trip to Sonoma and I am here with two friends for a girls birthday trip. Based on the reviews, we were excited to have dinner at the B & V. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. Our server, Jess, was not attentive at all. We ordered truffle fries as an appetizer and we received them after our meal arrived and we had notified the manager. There was no apology from our server , only blame placed on other coworkers. Additionally, our meals did not come out at the same time, one of the sides didn’t come nor were drinks refilled until we requested to talk with a manager. The manager apologized and offered to comp the appetizers and desserts. One of the other servers immediately provided drink refills and offered to help which we appreciated, however, I believe there is more service recovery that could have been offered by the manager and our server. Read moreWe came here on Christmas Eve and really enjoyed the experience! This was one of the few places that had a Yelp Reservation on Christmas eve so we really appreciated that as tourists to Sonoma.
Good: The service here is quick!
I really liked the lobster bisque soup - small portion size but really tasty and has a lot of cream.
The gnocchi here is a huge portion size, super heavy too so I couldn't finish it but the bacon inside it made the whole dish super juicy and yummy.
I also liked the squid ink risotto - it had a unique plating and had a lot of shrimp and scallop that came with it so it was a good amount of food.
The ambiance here is also really cozy, and you can see the food being made in the clear windows to the kitchen.
Bad: I found the lobster tagliatelle just standard, I don't think it had enough flavor.
Overall, this place is a really great place for being available to book on Yelp - it's not a super unique experience but it's a good place to go for...

We walked in and we're told 1.5 hr wait, went down street, came back 10min later as nothing else looked tasty at that time and asked again and they seated us. We waited 20+ min to order, food actually came quickly, once done eating took 25 minutes to get the check. They added automatic gratuity for a group of 6, the server was asked to itemize the "electronic" bill (total 8 items- 2 drinks and 6 meals) as we all needed for work reimbursement and we were refused, another member in group asked again and he refused. After leaving called manager who then talked with owner who called and he sent me an itemized bill a few minutes later, but still leaves a sour taste about the restaurant as it took so much more effort to be unhelpful, and there are many other options around that probably don't have the same...
