Vella Cheese Company of California — Local services in Sonoma

I have been a fan of Vella Cheese for about 10 years when I bought a sample pack online from a distributer. I was thrilled to find out that their dairy was just an hour's drive from my sister's house. We stop be every couple of months to get a new supply. My sister's favorite is the Toma, mine is the Oro Secco. we both like the Mezzo Secco and the sharp cheddar. I also usually pick up some dry Habanero jack and/or one of the other flavoured Jack cheeses. The staff is always friendly and their prices are so much lower than comparable high end brands. I especially like the Habanero shaved on salads. Mmmm! Update 2021/07/24: We stopped by again and I purchased nearly 3 pounds of various cheeses for a great price. Oh my god this is amazing cheese. We ordered the Try a Bit of Everything Box after wanting to try the Toma and the Dry MontereyJack. Every cheese has been exceptional. The Toma was stunningly good on Neapolitan pizza - creamy with a slight bite. The Daisy with Jalapenos was an unexpected winner.

I definitely have to shout out about the service too. We were called after our order and asked if Vella could ship USPS instead of the UPS we selected as to our part of the US, the former would be faster and also saved us $10. Vella saved us money and delivered fresher product.

We're new regulars and will order our special cheeses from Vella. Can't wait to try new ones. Great company and...

I’d forgotten just how much I adore this cheese shop! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the irresistible aroma of fine cheeses and the warm smiles of a genuinely friendly staff.
