Aloha Ice Cream — Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe

The ice cream itself was solid (the matcha was great), but the service was absolutely terrible. The woman working behind the counter covered in tattoos, late 30s middle aged was rude, sarcastic, and made the whole experience uncomfortable. Instead of a simple smile or helpful attitude, we got snappy remarks and a tone that screamed “you’re bothering me.”

There were no labels on the ice cream, so naturally we had to ask questions. Every response we got back was short, dismissive, and flat-out unprofessional. For a business that survives on tourist dollars, this is a huge red flag. Tourists are your bread and butter treat them like crap and eventually people will stop coming. She seemed rude to the workers there and they gave a hint of discomfort.

The product was good, but thanks to that attitude, the experience was ruined. South Lake Tahoe has plenty of places to spend money this one doesn’t deserve it unless they fix their customer service. This attitude needs to...

Absolutely simply unbelievable. We went with our family to have ice cream and the individual who owns this place was the most unkind soul. He started of by getting mad at my 6 year old daughter for looking in at the the ice cream choices and not just reading the list. Next my mother was looking at the list and told him her order. He then got snappy because she was not standing right under the 'order here' sign. I stated WOW. He bore his eyes at us (which were half way rolled into his head) and said "you dont have to eat here". His attitude only escalated until I called the shot and said we are out of here. I wouldn't pay that guy a pine cone let alone my valued cash dollars. Very horrible customer service and completely disrespectful to my family who are locals. We honestly only tried this place because it was open later than the one we had wanted to try. They greet most of the customers, but then a long line forms and there’s still no one at the counter. The rolled ice cream takes a ridiculous amount of time to make (in the hour we were there, we saw maybe 8 be made in that time) and they only had one person making it. We ordered 4 items (1 rolled) and were told to wait for the rolled ice cream. We waited and waited and I’m pretty chill since my kids were content with their ice cream, but we waited 40 minutes only to ask and they said ‘what did you order?’ Mistakes happen, but they were not apologetic whatsoever and they continued to make other orders instead of fixing it once we brought it to their attention.
