Beverly Lodge — Hotel in South Lake Tahoe

I have never been in such a dump. It was filthy. Mold build up in the bathroom. Past guests garbage under the beds. Busted light bulb glass behind bed, missing bulbs (yes plural) from lights & lamps, busted lamp shade that was stained with God knows what. Left over cheeze-its on top of chipped up entertainment center. Popcorn and a lot of dirt in the corners of the bathroom. Pre-dirtied towel in the bathroom. Two open and used bars of soap under the bathroom sink. A toilet bowl that rocked and almost popped off its bolts as you sat on it. Water damage on bathroom walls, paint missing all over bathroom walls, chipped paint on all most every wall in room. Main sliding window on front wall of room doesn't lock. A/C is just a floor fan. Garbage can had ketchup all over the side from past guests. Comforters so stained that the stains seemed to have been the only thing holding them together. Blankets underneath the comforters weren't much cleaner. Room smelled like wet dog and cigarettes. "Blackout" curtain was too small / didn't fit along front window. Shower head was barely hanging on wall of shower. Out of the three lights in the bathroom, only one worked, of course one of the light fixtures didn't even have a bulb in it, so who knows if that one worked. Electrical plugs missing face plate. Dry rot on overhang outside back of room. Heater vent falling off of wall. Front office smelled like a rich, thick mixture curry, b.o. and some spicy incense. On the bright side 1980's bulb style TV worked great, and remote looked like it may have been recently cleaned off. And as a plus, one of the two front door locks worked, so if someone wanted in, they'd have to work a little harder at it. Take my word for it and spend the extra $20 to go anywhere...

This place is not up to code and not ok for ANYONE to stay in. We had to leave our reservation early because We had discovered that our room and the room my mother was staying in was infested with bed bugs. Me and my 4 children received multiple bed bug bites. This is documented by my doctor and my kids doctor. We have pictures and videos of the infestation. Do you know how easy it is to bring bed bugs home with you after a trip? They can infest your home and causing damages to your things costing hundreds of dollars on top of the $1,800 treatment done to your home to get ride of the initial infestation. But after the treatment you still have to throw away lots of items and furniture that have also been infested. This is just the worst of the problems here. My heater was broken and stayed on. And in my moms room the heater did not work and the temperature reached bellow 15 degrees at points because of the location. The owner of the lodge DOES NOT honor your prices. Having a reservation threw your sight did not ensure that is what is paid. He price gouged on my mother and 2 other guests we talked with who booked threw your site. Even tho we all had booked over a week in advanced, he raised our price because it was the weekend. On one of the guests he raised it over 50$ more then what was booked for. For all these reason my mother the guests and myself are looking into filing a civil suite. Also will be contacting health inspectors in his area. THE OWNERS ARE LEAVING FALSE POSOTIVE REVIEWS ON ALL BOOKING SITES SO THEY CAN SCORE HIGHER ON THERE STARS AND COUNTER ACT THE UNHAPPY CUSTOMER REVIEWS. THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING AND OWNER MANAGEMENT IS RUDE AND MEAN...

Absolutely disgusting. I've had my fair share of bad hotels, this one by far takes the trophy for being the WORST HOTEL EVER. Before we even walked into the room, we were met with a colony of tiny bugs right outside our door. Walk inside, there are more flying around: I think they're tiny mosquitos, and they BITE. I notified the manager of the property of this. She told me it was "nothing" without even checking our room, and my concerns were completely disregarded. I have kids with me. She then proceeded to yell at me and told me to get out.

Other details: there is no air conditioning so beware if you're staying in the summer time, the windows aren't exactly safe enough for you to trust to keep them open at night for ventilation; electric socket next to the bathroom sink in our room was completely detached (this safety concern was also disregarded); room floor and bathroom mirror did not look like they had been cleaned since the last guest; they use regular keys for their rooms, could easily be copied by other guests.

PRO TIP: check everything (i.e., lift up the bed sheets and check the mattresses) before you drop your stuff off. If you're unhappy, you must check out within 15 minutes, otherwise they will in no way refund your money or provide you with the smallest ounce of sympathy,...
