Hunt's Photo & Video — Attraction in South Portland

I have visited Hunt's Photo in Portland a handful of times, and each time I've been impressed with their gear selection, employees' technical knowledge, and exceptional customer service. Despite living quite far away, I always make it a point to stop in whenever I pass through Portland.

The staff genuinely care about your needs and strive to offer the right solutions. Today, I came in with a lens that I hoped only needed cleaning, but unfortunately, it required repair. This was right before I was heading to catch a flight to Colorado, where I would have dearly missed the lens. However, Ray L. helped me find an affordable replacement lens that suited my adventure perfectly. Thanks to his initiative, I left the store with a new lens that I had been meaning to add to my toolkit, rather than leaving empty-handed and disappointed.

Hunt's in South Portland is THE BEST photo/video store I have ever used. I have been using this store for all my printing & gear needs for about a year and have had the pleasure of speaking to almost everyone in the store now. Anthony in the print dept took a lot of his time to help me get started with printing my photos and I am THRILLED with the results he helped deliver. Ray is an absolute legend of the trade with immense amounts of personal experience and tips. I have taken several classes taught by Ray and I have never had a better experience with a knowledgeable and kind teacher. He is a wealth of knowledge especially on the Fujifilm platforms and helped me repair cameras, point me in the right direction for a new camera body, and has aided in lens choice decisions a bunch of times. I cannot recommend the team at the South Portland location enough. Go pop in if you haven't already. You will learn something new every time and have a blast doing it....

Passing through area on pleasure trip. Needed an SD card. Brick and mortar store with outstanding service, SanDisk 128 GB extreme pro..latest version...cost less than many online sellers. Had to wait my turn for service, and was thoroughly impressed with the advice and guidance that the store team members offered the patron.

Looked at some additional gear, and not once felt pressured or so that I was a bother.

Heading further north in Maine, inquired regarding places to shoot. The team member explained that he's mostly a sports action photographer, but still helped us plan our trip. If you're in the area...this is a must stop place for any type of photography. They're fully stocked in several brands, have some very nice used items, and cover everything from point & shoot, tripods, gimbal heads, selfie sticks, cases...you name it...and really GOOD advice on locations.
